True God's Spirit is the Spirit of the truth of Gods' Word right *John 6:63; John 17:17. So what is it in the Word of God that leads us to the foot of the cross and what do you think the meaning of Matthew 9:12-13 is?

The Spirit leads us to Christ through the hearing of the Gospel. He is not on the cross anymore though.

In Matthew, well, the Pharisees thought they were righteous because they thought they kept the law.

Jesus let them know that self righteous people like themselves will never repent because they believe they are already believing what they should.

On the other hand, people who know they are unrighteous know they need Him. They are the only ones who can believe in Christ because they do not believe in themselves.

Jesus is the Word of God. It is His grace that draws us via the Spirit.

Matthew 9:12-13 [12] But when Jesus heard that, he said to them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. [13], But go you and learn what that means, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

I asked you do you know what that scripture means?

I suppose if we want to view it from the Pharisees point, they would have ‘hopefully’ gone back and looked at Hosea 6:6.

They would have hopefully seen then that God wants our love, not our trying to be good enough for Him.

They would have read the passage and see that God considers their love very shallow.
