  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yes but you have to remember that we are talking about Jesus’ words here. Jesus says in verse 2 these people are in Christ. He doesn’t say they claim to be or say they are in Christ. He says every branch in Me that doesn’t bear fruit. False professors are not in Christ and are not attached to the vine to begin with so they cannot be cut off from what they are not attached to.
If one is in Jesus Christ (part of the vine) how can their fruit be thistles? I do understand how there can be some spoiled fruit (sin) at times. But in this case aren't we really talking about a life style? Now when it comes to sin, you will never hear or read me saying Christians never sin. Read Rom 7, 8, Jam 1 and 2,or the provision of 1 JN 1:9.
