There are a few who don't, but for the most part they have abandoned legitimate scientific research and gone to work for creationists ministries. Not necessarily.
It's biblical to not listen to godless people. I don't think the writers spent all that ink and animal skin so modern Christians would ignore that advice.
I'm not listening to your advice, trust me.Then maybe for your own good you should retreat to the Christians-only portion of CF, or convince the owners that the rest of us should be banished.
I don't know what you do for a living, but have you ever taken engineering or business advise from an atheist?I'm not listening to your advice, trust me.
I'm talking about taking advice or wisdom or knowledge from certain people, not having a conversation with them.
It's not really the same thing, but how would I know?I don't know what you do for a living, but have you ever taken engineering or business advise from an atheist?
]It's exactly the same thing. You are claiming that a Christian should not take science advice from an atheist. It's not really the same thing,
If you knew would it make a difference? Would you reject the advice because it came from an atheist?but how would I know?
The Science of the past is not hard science. It's highly open to interpretation. It's not at all the same as taking business advice from someone.]It's exactly the same thing. Whatever you think "hard science" is, but OK. Let me ask the question another way: you wouldn't take "science of the past" from an atheist; would you take it from a theist* who thought biblical creationism was bunk? The Science of the past is not hard science. It's highly open to interpretation. It's not at all the same as taking business advice from someone.
And you apparently deem yourself wise, or do you deem yourself stupid? Either way, you might want to think again. It's not really the same thing, but how would I know?
1 Corinthians 3:19-20 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God, since it is written: He catches the wise in their craftiness; and again, The Lord knows that the reasonings of the wise are meaningless.
Wisdom according to secular thinking is meaningless reasoning. It's the big flaw to the so called age of reason. A person relying on his own wisdom can reason anything away or reason himself into believing anything.
Just out of curiosity, how do you deem yourself? And you apparently deem yourself wise, or do you deem yourself stupid?
I think in terms of general understanding, that childhood expression of "when you point at me, there are three fingers pointing back at you" may be relevant to many who respond with pithy bible quotes.Just out of curiosity, how do you deem yourself?
(And before you answer, keep in mind what "Homo sapiens" means.)
I'm not sure what that's supposed to mean? And you apparently deem yourself wise, or do you deem yourself stupid? Either way, you might want to think again.
Don't mean to shock you, but I don't judge people as real or unreal Christians based on how they view creation.Whatever you think "hard science" is, but OK. *It's possible that you don't think that Christians who reject biblical creationism are "real" Christians, but it would be hard for you to maintain that they are not theists.
Really I am just trying to understand the creationist fascination with Dawkins. He seems more important to creationists than to the rest of us.Don't mean to shock you, but I don't judge people as real or unreal Christians based on how they view creation.
I just put what scripture says above what other Christians say.
I like to salt my posts with Scripture at times.I think in terms of general understanding, that childhood expression of "when you point at me, there are three fingers pointing back at you" may be relevant to many who respond with pithy bible quotes.
That's not true according to Dawkins. He constantly uses scientific theory to put down religion.
Well he can come here and try and put me down if he wants. He's not putting down religion. He's putting down you.
