The Ukraine has no "sovereignty. Since 2014, it has been under a puppet regime installed by the US after a coup. Ergo, per international law, the Russians are within their rights to deploy troops there if their security interests demand it - especially in support of people who have long achieved de facto independence from Kiev. The bitter irony is that the voices who call most loudly for the defense of the suppose sovereignty of the Ukraine oppose the very real sovereignty of the people of Donbas. Just as 2014 they condemned Russia's bloodless annexation of the Crimea, while condoning the Ukranian army's bloody carnage in Donbas.
