Glancing at the number of medals won by country and I am surprised to see China and Japan place 2nd and 3rd place respectably. My surprised stemming from the fact that these countries are mostly homogeneous with east Asian stock. The hyper neoteny of the human male female East Asian does not exactly scream superior athlete to me. Although that might depend on the sport. Also maybe most of the people representing those countries are not even East Asian? I guess the Japanese have the Ainu.

I do remember some Chinese people visiting my place of work once. One was quite large and tall.. he looked weird.. like he was pumped full of growth hormones growing up.

Maybe.. still when the base line of the east Asian is so tiny I'd think even a smaller country with a larger average body mass would still have superior outliers.

I know there was this one Asian cop who was arrested for abusing a lot of women. He was pretty tall and extremely buff, although I'd be surprised if he wasn't mixed. I remember watching this Korean film and they had the tough muscle guy.. and he'd be nothing in a Western nation.. lol.

Not sure about the stereotype.. many east Asian countries do have higher IQs than Western ones. Not by a lot.. but it probably explains why for instance they're overrepresented in Ivy league schools.

While neoteny made most Asians smaller and it hurts Asian men a lot in the dating market, it probably did give them larger brains.
