The men who supposedly founded the United States debated about how the country was to be governed. They thought that the people ought to be the ones to decide the matter by voting.

Oops, they were wrong.

A little worried about snow.
It's unusually warm here. In Omaha, which is not too far from me, it was 80 degrees yesterday. I haven't heard the "s" word yet ;)

Lucky.

Although I can't complain... we've barely had a winter this year. It's supposed to hit into the 70s this weekend.

Yeah, it was 70 here yesterday. I personally prefer the cold. I can't stand hot weather.

How cold do you prefer? 50ish is probably my golden spot.

IOW, don’t vote! because those who do agree with those who’s ideas are false.
Does this really belong in this thread?

That said, I'm in Australia. We have compulsory voting. It helps avoid many of the problems you have in America.

Yeah, 50s is fine.

I always say it's easier to warm up than cool down. I'd rather have layers on me than be sweating.

That's really interesting. I wasn't aware that happened in Australia.

Whereas I find even the relatively mild winters we have here painfully bitter, and will take our current summer heat much more happily.
That's really interesting. I wasn't aware that happened in Australia.
It really does help. Because our politicians don't need to convince us to get out to vote - only, once there, to vote for them, - our politics is much less about rushing to the extremes in order to generate enough of an emotional reaction to get people moving. And that seems to make for a much healthier national political climate. (I'm not saying we're perfect, just that that is one difference that I appreciate).

The tread is “What’s currently on your mind“. I don’t know what’s currently on you mind, but if it’s what was on the mind of those who vote, then you have been deceived.

But her right heel I’m told is much admired by connosieurs, and her circulation is known to be the largest in the world.

(Gilbert and Sullivan fans should get the reference)
I do not get the reference. The only Gilbert and Sullivan I know is the song about the scary hippopotamus, which is a reference @MehGuy might get since he's recently been watching Frasier. :)
