• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hey....hold on thar baba louis....

Isn't that what our 10th Amendment Right is all about...
Jefferson Davis used that same defense in 1866 when he was on trial for Treason in Ft. Monroe, VA.

Interestingly, he was found innocent and released after spending over a year in prison.

However, it didn't change the fact that 350,000 loyal southerners were killed, their cities were burned, and their economy was destroyed not to have fully recovered even today.

The constitution is subordinate to the whims of the President.

That is the legacy of Lincoln.

So what you all are saying is...our Constitution is worthless...

And yes...for the most part...I think Lincoln did the best that could have been expected from any man in his position.

The end result could have been much, much worse...IMHO

or wait...taking a look around today...perhaps I do speak in error....

It's probably impossible to say what would have happened if history had worked out differently. However, an unbiased view of history will show that the US Constitution became moot in 1861.

Everything since then is simply bread and circuses.

We maintain our illusion of freedom and Babylon on the Patomac continues to trample us.

Ah yes, The Matrix.

"This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes."

The blue pill's no fun. :p
