Parables don't refer to real people. Parables use symbols to represent something else, so the two people in the parable are symbols.

And ... , Abraham is not -the Abraham- ...Parables don't refer to real people. Parables use symbols to represent something else, so the two people in the parable are symbols.
Lazarus is a popular Hebrew name and it means "God will help". That's why the name was used in the parable. It has a pertinent meaning. The Rich Man and Lazarus is effectively among the parables used by Jesus ...Does that mean the parable does not refers to something concerning the two principal person mentioned by Jesus ie the well known Lazarus and the Rich Man...who have died during Jesus' time ?
KJV list of Jesus' parables :
The Parables of JESUS - King James Version (KJV)
The point of the parable is to show the fate of the Jews (the rich man) for rejecting their Messiah, and the comfort that awaits the Gentiles (Lazarus) who will accept the Messiah. And ... , Abraham is not -the Abraham- ...
Then, ,,what is the message Jesus is trying to tell us with that parable of the Rich man and Lazarus ?
which the main point seem to be:
Luke 16:23
23 And in Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
But more than 3,000 of the Jewish people have accepted Jesus at Pentecost Acts 2:41 ....The point of the parable is to show the fate of the Jews (the rich man) for rejecting their Messiah, and the comfort that awaits the Gentiles (Lazarus) who will accept the Messiah.
Notice that the rich man calls Abraham "Father" which indicates that the rich man represents the Jewish people. Also notice that even though Jesus rose from the dead, they still did not accept him, just as the parable foretold.
Lazarus is a popular HEBREW NAME and it means "God will help".
