LOL! It's a straaaaaange thread where Trump being awful gets blamed on his critics. And they won't have a problem with it.FWIW, it was only half of them.
You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump's supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables.
Back then I would have gone for half. Now I'd say this group is closer to 30%.But the "other" basket – the other basket – and I know because I look at this crowd I see friends from all over America here: I see friends from Florida and Georgia and South Carolina and Texas and – as well as, you know, New York and California – but that "other" basket of people are people who feel the government has let them down, the economy has let them down, nobody cares about them, nobody worries about what happens to their lives and their futures; and they're just desperate for change. It doesn't really even matter where it comes from. They don't buy everything he says, but – he seems to hold out some hope that their lives will be different. They won't wake up and see their jobs disappear, lose a kid to heroin, feel like they're in a dead-end. Those are people we have to understand and empathize with as well.
Well it is the legal term. In my previous line of work, I've worked with quite a few 12-15 year old girls who were groomed into being sex workers."Grooming" is purposely misconstrued as grooming a child to be sexually abused, when the term is being used in reference to ideological indoctrination.
Doesn't matter--the Democrats have grown far too elite and fastidious to want to appeal to people like that. What this country needs is an actual labor party.FYI...the OTHER half of the basket:
Back then I would have gone for half. Now I'd say this group is closer to 30%.
Yeah but a lot aren't desperate the way you're putting it. That's why the vetting process is needed.Yup. Nothing wrong with comparing desperate people to slimy parasites.
Trump of course. But I'm not holding my breath.Which one do you want? The one from Hitler or the one from Trump?
Then it shouldn't be hard to produce one example.Well, except when trans people were grooming children to hurt and abuse them. Heard that a bunch.
Yeah it's pretty strange they virtue signal over them while rabidly debasing a large segment of society. Kinda makes the former look a bit phony. But Democrats are the Nazis of course right?
Because NOTHING says Nazis like supporting transgender youth, accepting immigrants and valuing diversity.
Yep.Wait, you think it's libs who are purposefully misconstruing the definition of that word? Am I understanding you correctly?
Maybe to you but not to me. I have no interest in joining the echo chamber.Sigh.
The problem is you are not addressing it.
Total evasion as expected.1. Honestly, if you can't even identify them on your own, that is ALSO a problem.
2. I've listed them twice in this thread,
3. Remember how we complain about his actions? Those ones.
Ok.To some extent, I'd agree, but not quite. Trump is malignant, I just disagree with Republicans.
I guess that makes comparing them to slimy parasites OK.Yeah but a lot aren't desperate the way you're putting it. That's why the vetting process is needed.
Apparently I was mistaken. He said immigrants were "poisoning the blood of our country". It was the left he called "vermin".Trump of course. But I'm not holding my breath.
Who's saying "slimy parasites"?I guess that makes comparing them to slimy parasites OK.
That was in reference to millions of unchecked unhindered people pouring into the country illegally. Actual immigrants go though a process.Apparently I was mistaken. He said immigrants were "poisoning the blood of our country".
The entire left or just communists, marxists, fascists and radical thugs? Whatever the case, thanks for providing a legit example. It was the left he called "vermin".
“We pledge to you that we will root out the communists, Marxists, fascists and the radical left thugs that live like vermin within the confines of our country that lie and steal and cheat on elections,”
The ones calling them leeches.Who's saying "slimy parasites"?
Why does that make it acceptable? That was in reference to millions of unchecked unhindered people pouring into the country illegally.
The 3% who manage the second toughest immigration process in the world, yes.Actual immigrants go though a process.
Trump is not someone who strikes me as a person making finely graded distinctions,The entire left or just communists, marxists, fascists and radical thugs?
You are welcome.Whatever the case, thanks for providing a legit example.
How did you come with that only 3% of immigrants are in the US legally? The ones calling them leeches.
Why does that make it acceptable?
The 3% who manage the second toughest immigration process in the world, yes.

That's because Democrats, like Clinton and Obama, are actually pretty much generally in favor of strong borders. The controversy came with caravans of asylum seekers. They didn't try to sneak in and weren't immediately expelled when arrested. How did you come with that only 3% of immigrants are in the US legally?
I've heard Bill Clinton and Obama make speeches about needing strong borders and immigration control and making it stronger, with lots of democrats applauding.
It was only after Trump actually got proactive about it, that it became a bad thing.
Specifically, it was the ways that Trump wanted to address it, and the language that he used when talking about immigrants, that soured Democrats on the idea. The insistence on building a wall across the *entire* border, even in places where it made no sense or would have to be positioned miles into US territory (effectively ceding land - owned by American citizens - to Mexico), and the doubling down when these issues were pointed out. The insistence that Mexico would pay for it. The continued demonization and othering of immigrants. That was why it became a "bad thing".It was only after Trump actually got proactive about it, that it became a bad thing.
If BOTH the "Extreme" ends of the current parties branched out, I think elections would be healthier.Doesn't matter--the Democrats have grown far too elite and fastidious to want to appeal to people like that. What this country needs is an actual labor party.

There's always been a degree of vindictiveness and xenophobia manifest in portions of the right with respect to immigration, but prior to Trump, it hadn't been that overt and it hadn't been promoted from the executive branch, so it was easier to overlook. One could be on the left and not worry so much about being associated with or validating those guys.Specifically, it was the ways that Trump wanted to address it, and the language that he used when talking about immigrants, that soured Democrats on the idea. The insistence on building a wall across the *entire* border, even in places where it made no sense or would have to be positioned miles into US territory (effectively ceding land - owned by American citizens - to Mexico), and the doubling down when these issues were pointed out. When Trump implied that Mexican immigrants were mainly rapists etc, it made it more difficult for many people to get on board with him, understandably. It was only after Trump actually got proactive about it, that it became a bad thing.
That is the amount of applicants who get through the process each year. How did you come with that only 3% of immigrants are in the US legally?
Because those are true statements. The idea that people believe we need "Open borders" is a fabrication.I've heard Bill Clinton and Obama make speeches about needing strong borders and immigration control and making it stronger, with lots of democrats applauding.
It was only after Trump actually got proactive about it, that it became a bad thing.
That's not what he said. That's a prime example of leftwing media lying about things Trump says. He said Mexico is sending us their rapists, murderers etc. to get rid of them. The left purposely misconstrued "their" as "they're" as in they are. When Trump implied that Mexican immigrants were mainly rapists etc, it made it more difficult for many people to get on board with him, understandably.
And now it seems they're realizing their mistake. It also made it sound like he was deliberately (and dishonorably) overstating the problem and whatever he said about the issue should simply not be taken seriously.
