That proves that common sense is above all the best "law" around... I have a sweet tooth too and at times I search for sugary stuff...Still one thing to show your kids that you have self control within your life and that is great But to be doing something illegal is still an essential teaching

That is all I was saying...

I have lost 10 pounds thus far cutting down on portions. And of course watching the sugar and indeed it is hard to resist it; as everything almost has "sugars" in one form or another. Also sugar is a carbohydrate and we need them to live.... We def. do not need marijuana to live or any other illegal drug

Yes, well I had no control, nor did I know I needed any at that time - ages 18-20 when I OD'd.

Well, I don't want to really get into the drugs talk, seeing how I feel about illicit drugs, and alcohol, which is also a drug. I just try not to go to the extremes in my views. IOW, I tend to be very against them because of the experiences with alcohol and such, and I'm of the addictive sort of person, so I've learned moderation in sugar, and I am glad I never got into other addictive things. I really have to monitor myself in all stuff.

I understand what you are saying. When I was doing lent, I quite eating refined sugars and it was interesting. I do notice a difference in my health when lots of sugars are cut out of my diet.

Lots of sugar can cloud the mind and cause confusion, hard to concentrate, sleepiness, and disorientation....at least it did for me.

All I ask is that you learn to separate marijuana as medicine that relieves the suffering of many, from the culture of abusers. These really are two completely separate issues, and each issue needs to be dealt with individually and clearly... Which is the failure of this whole thread.

I do understand the difference, and that is why I'm not very vocal in this discussion because I don't have a problem with medical marijuana. My other half has a different stance on this than I, so he helps to even me out so that I'm not totally off the one end of the spectrum on this.

For myself regarding my illnesses, it's a jolt to the system...like caffeine. The jolt is exaggerated. I can have small doses but nothing major. It's one reason I don't eat / drink caffeinated food either.

I can't have caffeine either. It actually does a bit worse to my system than sugar. It triggers my panic attacks and anxiety feelings, it causes heart palpitations, and makes me very sick to my stomach - nauseous. This was in a cola I had ages ago when I was on my strict diet for 3 years (kinda like cleaning out my system I think). I took literally two gulps of the drink, and I was nauseous. :o

Anyhow, I avoid caffeine, and don't miss it. Didn't grow up with it, so I didn't miss it when I wasn't allowed to have it. Before it started making me sick, it would give me these highs, (kinda like what you said), and I'd be bouncing off the walls as if I was drugged up. Then it got worse. So none for me, thank you.

I understand what you are saying. It gives me a jolt but when it wears off, the down time hits hard with fatigue. So it just makes the Chronic Fatigue syndrome worse. It does also affect my blood pressure and burns my tummy (acid reflux).

Ah, yes. I can see how that would really mess up your system, especially with the Chronic Fatigue syndrome.

Yeah...okie I understand what you are saying...I am not so much for alcohol at all since I hate the taste and it does not sit ok with my stomach to start up with...So I avoided it or drink so little just to join in social ways. As far as drugs I am opposed to all kinds of dependency thus hate all types from aspirin to cocaine...Anything chemical cannot be good for ya esp. when addiction is involved and we know the damage they do in our system.

That is ok Proto I am a bit too busy with sanding and refinishing my patio these days so it is impossible to go back and correct things... too much time consuming

So yeah caffeine is bad for me

Oh yeah. I'd forgotten that - caffeine causes fibercysts/cysts. Yeah, not good.

How Marijuana (bud) Affects the Body and the Brain

Shall we assume that it impairs the ability to drive a car? I think the state wisely attributes the Marijuana usage as DUIs.
