My screenname dates from 1995 when I was a sophomore in high school. I was sidelined with a knee injury during that football season. I had finished rehab enough to get limited play time in the last game of the season. It was the one time in high school I played defense. The game was very much in our favor and it was raining cats and dogs. Not enough to stop the game but enought to make things difficult. On my second play from scrimmage, I found a hole in opposing offensive line and sacked the quarterback for a sizable loss. That made my shortened season worth it. The name comes in when a friend on the team told me after the game he had read a story about a fish who had survived in the water that due to a hurricane was displaced from where others of its kind usually were found. The fish is called a gade. The fish had survived the storm. Hence, stormgade.

My screenname refers to my background. I'll always be a London boy wherever God puts me on this Earth. However, even though I was born and grew up in London, my roots are elsewhere. My Dad's from Wales and my Mum's from Germany. I came to faith in Germany and people thought of me as a typical Englishman/Londoner, which isn't really true - So, the screenname is also a bit of self-referential humour
