The atmosphere. In Kabbah, the goal of spiritual practice is to elevate one's consciousness to higher levels of awareness and ultimately reach a state of unity with the Divine. The firmament, then, represents a spiritual challenge that must be overcome in order to reach this state of unity. The literal represents the divine.

Maybe high on lack of oxygen. Although I monitor it on my watch and it is in the acceptable range. Or maybe high on carbs. Otherwise I do not smoke, drink, no coffee, or any caffeine. I watch my salt and fat intake.I'm not sure on what though.
I am married to an alien, does that count? I do not think she has a spaceship, she does not even drive.alien space craft.

a couple of what?Ah, so I'm at least a couple up on you.
You have a word out of the Bible: firmament. Because you do not know what the word means, you claim the Bible is not true. Your logic and reason leave a lot to be desired.
רָקִיעַ
firmament, sky, ductile, heaven, expanse, canopy
One of the most profoundly remarkable properties about our atmosphere is that it's transparent to not only sunlight, but to starlight as well. As we turn our eyes skyward after the Sun goes down, a glittering tapestry of planets, stars, galaxies, and nebulae illuminates the heavens. (forbes.com)
Are you talking about the literal or the figurative? Either way, the earth started out as a snowball. Also, God declares the end from the beginning, then He watches over His word to fulfill what He said He was going to do. Just like He writes the book of our life at or before conception. He gives us all of our gifts, talents, and abilities. Evolution also gives us an interesting perspective of how we are all one organism made of individual parts. That's cool, man, but it means that the "lights in the firmament" are formed in the wrong order relative to reality.

I have to, at my age, I would not be alive if I did not practice some moderation. Everytime I die and have to be revived or resuscitated God reminds me if I would live right, I would not be going through what I put myself through. You mentioned a number of things in which you practice abstinence or moderation.
I think there is a reason why God keeps me alive. We see a lot of people die young, which I fully expected to happen to me. I did not ever think I would live my life out the way I have. You seem to believe that God has gifted you with certain insights, but there's a very thin line between genius and madness, and it's difficult to know when you've crossed it.
I don't really care as the text has no meaning to me. It is you that has been claiming that Gen 1 is confirmed by science, so it sounds like you are being literal here. Are you talking about the literal or the figurative?
Either way, the earth started out as a snowball.
TL; DR. Mostly theology, not interested.
There is a lot going on in Genesis Chapter one. The Hasidic or Kabalah says all time and all mysteries. So I need to know your perspective and what you are looking at. I am sure that you are aware: In physics, the act of observing a particle can change its behavior, making it difficult to measure its properties accurately.
If you notice "God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so." This was on the third day. Of course, light was on the first day. The firmament which is what we were talking about, was on the second day.
There is water above the atmosphere and water below in the sea. Then God forms dry land. The beginning of day one talks about the Earth. This is the literal bible. The beginning of time as we know it was not until the fourth day. " Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years". It is confusing in our calendar because we do not use the days, months, and years the way they do in the Hebrew calendar. This is time as we know it on Earth.
Of course, in a figurative way, nothing existed before time. At least not in the way it does now as a dichotomy. Before time we have black holes where the light does not escape. AS you know, light does not contain time. That is why we can still see the early universe at its beginning. I actually asked Gerold Schroeder about the event horizon and he did not know. Still, God is one, God is a singularity. God is infinite, we are finite. Our time is limited. We are a dichotomy of good and evil. God is light and God is good.
Isaiah 46:9-10 New International Version (NIV)
Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, and what is still to come. I say, 'My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.
Jeremiah 1:12 NIV
The LORD said to me, "You have seen correctly, for I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled."
Ok, that is fine, so I do not have to put anymore effort into this. That is good.I don't really care as the text has no meaning to me.
Yes, from your perspective, we have to look at a literal Bible. Of course, that means a literal 24-hour day.it sounds like you are being literal here.
We just came out of an ice age 12,000 years ago.,No. It did not.

I explain this a lot. My brother has a Ph.D. in Psychology. He wrote his dissertation on a preschool readiness test. My dad was a pediatrician and he used my brother's test to test his patients to see if they were ready for school. Two of the questions on the test were what color is grass and what color is the sky. I have a copy of it around here somewhere. There were a total of five questions. There is a lot more to it, but that is enough for now.OK since you think you know better explain the mechanism in your own words.
Oh, so now you do believe in ice ages.Technically, we are still *in* an ice age with glacial minima and maxima.

What statement is that? There have been five major ice ages: the Huronian, Cryogenian, Andean-Saharan, Karoo, and Quaternary glaciation (the most recent one).Just your statements about history.
