What does God's Word really say about a person being transgender?

What are you basing this on? I believe if you are born with female genitalia then you are female and if you are born with male genitalia then you are male.

https://medlineplus.gov/ency/article/003269.htm
The genetic sex of a child is determined at conception. The mother's egg cell contains an X chromosome, while the father's sperm cell contains either an X or a Y chromosome. These X and Y chromosomes determine the child's genetic sex.

Normally, an infant inherits 1 pair of sex chromosomes, 1 X from the mother and 1 X or 1 Y from the father. The father "determines" the genetic sex of the child. A baby who inherits the X chromosome from the father is a genetic female and has 2 X chromosomes. A baby who inherits the Y chromosome from the father is a genetic male and has 1 X and 1 Y chromosome.

The male and female reproductive organs and genitals both come from the same tissue in the fetus. If the process that causes this fetal tissue to become "male" or "female" is disrupted, ambiguous genitalia can develop. This makes it difficult to easily identify the infant as male or female. The extent of the ambiguity varies. In very rare instances, the physical appearance may be fully developed as the opposite of the genetic sex. For example, a genetic male may have developed the appearance of a normal female.

Typically, ambiguous genitalia in genetic females (babies with 2 X chromosomes) has the following features:

  • An enlarged [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] that looks like a small penis.
  • The urethral opening (where urine comes out) can be anywhere along, above, or below the surface of the [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse].
  • The labia may be fused and look like a scrotum.
  • The infant may be thought to be a male with undescended testicles.
  • Sometimes a lump of tissue is felt within the fused labia, further making it look like a scrotum with testicles.
In a genetic male (1 X and 1 Y chromosome), ambiguous genitalia usually include the following features:

  • A small penis (less than 2 to 3 centimeters, or 3/4 to 1 1/4 inches) that looks like an enlarged [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] (the [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] of a newborn female is normally somewhat enlarged at birth).
  • The urethral opening may be anywhere along, above, or below the penis. It can be located as low as the perineum, further making the infant appear to be female.
  • There may be a small scrotum that is separated and looks like labia.
  • Undescended testicles commonly occur with ambiguous genitalia.
Ambiguous genitalia is usually not life-threatening (see Causes section for exceptions), but it can create social problems for the child and family. For this reason, a team of experienced specialists, including neonatologists, geneticists, endocrinologists, and psychiatrists or social workers will be involved in the child's care.

Causes

Causes for ambiguous genitalia includes:

  • Pseudohermaphroditism. The genitalia are of 1 sex, but some physical characteristics of the other sex are present.
  • True hermaphroditism. This is a very rare condition, in which tissue from both the ovaries and testicles is present. The child may have parts of both male and female genitals.
  • Mixed gonadal dysgenesis (MGD). This is an intersex condition, in which there are some male structures (gonad, testis), as well as a uterus, vagina, and fallopian tubes.
  • Congenital adrenal hyperplasia. This condition has several forms, but the most common form causes the genetic female to appear male. Many states test for this potentially life-threatening condition during newborn screening exams.
  • Chromosomal abnormalities, including Klinefelter syndrome (XXY) and Turner syndrome (XO).
  • If the mother takes certain medicines (such as androgenic steroids), a genetic female may look more male.
  • Lack of production of certain hormones can cause the embryo to develop with a female body type, regardless of genetic sex.
  • Lack of testosterone cellular receptors. Even if the body makes the hormones needed to develop into a physical male, the body cannot respond to those hormones. This produces a female body type, even if the genetic sex is male.
Some common forms of intersexism:

Hypospadia: The urethra is at the base of the penis. The penis is a micro penis. It can be thought to be a large [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]. This happens in about 1 in 300 births.

Klinefelter Syndrome (XXY chromosome): These are guys who may develop what look more like female breasts, have micro penises, do not usually develop sperm. This happens in about 1 in 500 births.

Turner Syndrome (X chromosome): These are women who are usually shorter and do not develop many secondary sex characteristics. They are usually small breasted. They frequently cannot have children. This happens in about 1 in 1000 births. (Marci Walsh on the soap opera has this.)

Triplo X (XXX chromosome): These are women who usually have very large breasts and very narrow waists and hips and are over 6 feet tall. Some cannot have children in an ordinary way because they have a micro uterus and bone structure. This happens in about 1 in 1000. (Jessica Rabbit characterizes this condition.)

AIS (Androgen Insensitivity Disorder): This a person who looks female or ambiguous but mostly female on the outside, but will be missing the internal female organs. Most will be identified as female at birth and feel as if they are women.

PAIS (partial AIS): this is a person with ambiguous genitalia who has a working male body inside. Some people with PAIS are identified as girls at birth, but mostly boys. Most will grow up to feel as if they are men. 1 in 2000 births have AIS or PAIS.

What God made Adam an Eve has nothing to do with what our bodies are now after 1000's of years of genetic abnormalities have set in. Sin has caused changes in every part of nature, including us. This is why God has to come back soon. We are a mess, mentally, physically, emotionally. Our very DNA is damaged and it will only get worse. All nature has been affected. My cat had both characteristics of male and female plus 2 anuses. People are being born by the thousands with 2 sets of DNA, one organ of the body may have a different DNA than their blood---there are so many people that are walking around with absorbed body parts of their twin and they are just finding out and researching this. We are fearfully and wonderfully made--but sin has wrecked havoc on us.

100's of thousands are born "in-between". Gender is a spectrum in reality.
Then there is a second issue of where on the spectrum people see themselves.
You may think of yourself as a baby-maker, another as a glamor girl, and
another as the "man" of the family. Or no family.

Gender, male or female, is quite simple.

Genesis 1:27,
27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
Genesis 5:2,
2 He created them male and female, and blessed them and called them Mankind in the day they were created.
Mark 10:6-8,
6 But from the beginning of the creation, God ‘made them male and female.’ 7 ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, 8 and the two shall become one flesh’; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh.
There is no gray area in gender, it's either black or white. You're either male or female. God is not the author of confusion.

1 Corinthians 14:33,
33 For God is not the author of confusion but of peace...
And we can't depend on ourselves to determine what is right and wrong because,

Proverbs 14:12,
12 There is a way which seems right to a man and appears straight before him, But its end is the way of death.
Jeremiah 17:9,
9 The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is?
Matthew 15:19,
18 But the words you speak come from the heart—that’s what defiles you. 19 For from the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, all sexual immorality, theft, lying, and slander.
That's why we have the Bible to teach us right and wrong, because if you depend on yourself, you're going to get it wrong.

Obviously you did not read, nor want to comprehend what post 22 said. God is not the author of confusion---but Satan is and sin is and we live in a world that sin has damaged everything that God created. God didn't create cleft palates. Is God the author of this? Genetics does all sorts of things God never intended to happen.

I know how you feel. I was amazed at the amount of practical
Truth scripture provides and I felt the same way about using
what I read to improve my life. What I found was that scripture
could be used to illuminate my everyday life, but that it didn't
have enough pages to cover all situations fully, like a perfect
infinite encyclopedia might.

Mostly, there is no gray area.

Gender dysphoria is known to develop in children before age 4, notably in young boys. While young girls are said to give up masculine behavior by adolescence, many that don’t may be experiencing gender dysphoria. Therefore, the condition is said to have an early onset in both young boys and girls.

Recent studies now suggest gender dysphoria is inherently biological, originating from how gender identity develops from birth. Therefore, gender dysphoria isn’t a mental illness.

Most of a child’s gender identity develops happens in the womb or uterus.

1. As much as 80 percent of mothers of individuals with gender dysphoria had some type of psychiatric problem or some form of psychiatric treatment, mainly to treat symptoms originating from their struggle with gender identity.
2. As much as 45 percent of father of individuals with gender dysphoria also had some type of psychiatric problem or some form of psychiatric treatment.
3. According to the 2012 United States Census, as much as 24 percent of children (some with gender dysphoria) only live with their mothers, with an absence of a father figure.
4. There’s a near 100 percent absence of fathers in the homes of boys who suffer from severe gender dysphoria.
5. As much as 1 out of 30,000 adult males seek sexual reassignment surgery (sex change).
6. At least 1 out of 100,000 adult females seek sexual reassignment surgery (sex change).
7. Clinically referred children between the ages of 2 to 4 years old usually start developing gender dysphoria.
8. As much as 52 percent of children between ages 4 to 11 have one or more diagnosed conditions, alongside their gender dysphoria.
9. A 2012 survey by the Equality and Human Rights Commission found that as much as 1 percent of the population surveyed as ‘gender variant’ to a degree.

Sex chromosome disorders belong to a group of genetic conditions that are caused or affected by the loss or damage of sex chromosomes (gonosomes).

In humans this may refer to:

Because schizophrenia is believed to be caused by biological factors from birth, especially when the disorder presents in early childhood, does that make it any less of a mental illness?
What about bipolar disorder that presents in early childhood?

We don't say the person born with congenital heart disease does not have an illness.

Our problem is the stigma that is attached to mental illness compared to obvious physical illness. Many blame people with mental illness for their illness even though they don't for physical illnesses or disabilities.

The law tells us what is sin. Our not being under law does not mean we can break it.
IMO that is a too watered down definition of sin. It is also shown in scripture to be anything NOT DONE IN FAITH. And biblical faith comes from hearing and hearing by the [spoken] Word of God. (greek: rhema) To say anything one way or the other without God saying it first, is sin.

Romans 14:23b ...whatever is not from faith is sin.
Romans 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

What is sin for one is sin for all.
Not so. Nor has it EVER been that way.

Take the Mosaic covenant. There was one person - a direct decendant of Aaron, who was directed to go into the Holy of Holies one time per year. Every fall. For him it was a sin to NOT go in. For everyone else, (including his own brothers and sons) it was a sin for them TO go in. Ever.

In the New Covenant, everything done must be from faith. So a person can do something COMMANDED in scripture but if they do not do it in faith, they sin.

The Bible says "Male and female he created them"

I don't deny that some people have confusing feelings, but that's not part of God's creation plan.
What helps here is good theology.

We know that God created two genders only. Male and female.
We know that sin, however, has stained and broken the human race.

Mental illness, just like physical illness, is part of the broken human race because of sin.

Thinking you're a man in a woman's body (or vice versa) is a mental illness.

It needs to be fixed with proper care, and above all, good theology.

Unfortunately, trying to do either of those two things is considered "hateful" and "bigoted" by today's politically correct culture.

Satan likes to mess with Gods creation but satan cannot create anything himself.

In the resurrection, God will make all things new and how He originally intended us to be, perfect and very good.

In the meantime we are to honor Him as best we can. God isnt the author of confusion, satan is.

Perhaps included in the term "politically correct culture",
yes
all society , world religions even, politics, economics (worldly), education, hates YHWH'S WORD and rebels against doing things right.
The vain attempts to change things or force them by political means is not in line with what is right either - it is all leading to more confusion and attempted and actual one world control of everything as written in Revelation.

A transgender person is not committing a sin in saying they believe they are a member of the opposite sex. This is what is referred to as a delusion of assumption. It is much like an anorexic person believes they are too fat. They believe that if they can be thin enough, all of their problems would be fixed. In much the same way, the transgender person believes all of their problems would be solved if they were a member of the opposite sex and so the delusion sets in. The true sin is idolatry. They idolize being a member of the opposite sex much like an anorexic person idolizes supermodels. Within the chain reaction of sins is homosexuality. Homosexuality is forbidden both in the old testament and new testament. When a person desires to be a member of the opposite sex and behaves as a member of the opposite sex, he or she will most likely have sex with a member of the same sex. There is no way for a male to be a biological female and vice versa. Modern sexual reassignment surgery can, at best, create hyper-feminized men and hyper-masculine women. The reason is because of reproduction. The entire female body is designed for pregnancy. Everything from the uterus to the separated hip bone is designed for child birth. No surgery can facilitate this level of functionality. No surgery can remove all of this functionality. There are those born with both sex gametes but usually only one is functional. Of those born with two functional gametes which is a 1/1000000000000 chance or more, they must face a reality that cannot be considered a norm.
