As E = mc2... So we can divide and conclude that m (mass) = E/c2(energy) ... And there are three varieties...

Natural E/c2 - Cooled plasma - Mass
Mental E/c2 - Intelligence - That which goes on between your ears
Spiritual E/c2 - Energy (Motivation, love) / c2 (faith, hope, charity, joy)

I don't know if you guys have ever been in love. And after reading your posts here your heart is probably as hardened as this old rocky top land in mid-August, in need of a mattock to break loose the hard old fallow ground.

I say... I don't know if you guys have ever been in love... But it will cause you to do irrational things. That is because love and virtue are in different compartments than knowledge. In which, in support of Joyce Meyers, her ministry touches the heart.
I just saw this part. Wow.

You don't know us, have never met us, don't really know anything about us except the few sentences we post here now and then. You are not helping your argument by making such blatantly judgmental and intentionally hurtful statements.

Since you like to be pointed back to the law, I'll point you to the eighth commandment.

(From Luther's Small Catechism)

The Eighth Commandment.

Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

What does this mean?--Answer.

We should fear and love God that we may not deceitfully belie, betray, slander, or defame our neighbor, but defend him, [think and] speak well of him, and put the best construction on everything.

But... Are you not bearing the same false witness on your neighbor Joyce Meyer? I mean, really, if your going to find fault in someone... Please also take the whole conversation in account, and that people were asking "What does 'touched by the Holy Spirit' mean?" and continuing to grill me about it.

Confucius say... "If you mention peoples flaws, they resent it; if they see their own ugliness in a mirror, they think it's all right. "

Bible say... "Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts." -Proverbs 21:2

One big problem with the Joel Osteen and Joyce Meyer threads is that people love finding fault in them, but resent people finding fault in their own way of thinking. Which is probably a good reason moderators end up shutting down such threads.

Come on peple use some biblical discernment!
Joyce is a false teacher, a word of faith teacher that believes Christ's had to suffer in hell in order to atone for our sins (if you don't believe this according to her you can not be saved), she teaches that Jesus ceased to be the son of God (lost His divine nature) to become sin. (outright heresy)
Furthermore she preaches of generationally specific demons afflicting families with specific issues, ie. lust.

Romans 16:17Now I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause dissensions and obstacles contrary to the doctrine you have learned. Avoid them,

Joyce: God wants you to have all the best that the WORLD has to offer
Scripture:They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were tempted, they were put to death with the sword; they went about in sheepskins, in goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, ill-treated

I need to start a poll to find out how many people are sitting around at their computers in goatskins, recovering from their stone injuries.
And the first question I would ask is, how in the heck did you get the computer, and who is paying the electric bills for you to type on it?

The destitute have never been so affluent.

Are you suggesting "so-called biblical teachers" should teach that "God wants you to have all the best that the WORLD has to offer"

Maybe you could share some scriptures that say this is biblical TEACHING?

I would think that I was being quite clear. It goes to hypocrisy.

Hope all is well with you!
I too believe that God wants me to have His best and in turn give of
my best to His people.

And as I mentioned earlier
Do you try to get the best paying job you can find?
why?
Do you try to save up money?
why?
There's nothing wrong with having "money".
I can have an annual income of 15 grand and
be greedy and covetous.
I can have an annual income of 300 grand
and be spirit filled and generous, giving
to every good work.

And God is able to bless you abundantly,
so that in all things at all times,
having all that you need,
you will abound in every good work.

Should ministers be teaching this?

One of my changes of thinking since I came back to CF is to begin to understand that there is no hierarchy of priesthood of believer. We are all of that priesthood; we are all evangelists; we are all ministers and teachers of Christ.

Being poor does not make one a saint, nor does being rich make one a sinner.

Certainly not all the best this WORLD has to offer, He wants me to have a life firmly planted in Him and to have that life in the spirit, abundantly. No matter what my temporal or worldly situation may be, Sunny i have learned to be patient in affliction and understanding in times of trial...Job said it best, "the Lord gives, the Lord taketh away, blessed be the name of the Lord."
That is His best for me, to understand always that, His grace is sufficient!

Define "best". Why does "best" always mean material things to Meyer and her followers?

Do you think Meyer's shtick would fly in Sudan, where people are enslaved for their faith in Christ?

Why not just preach the Gospel?

What do you believe God wants for you Simon?

I can't speak for Simon, but I believe God wants me, first and foremost, to repent and receive Christ, which I have, and to grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ.

And as I mentioned earlier
Do you try to get the best paying job you can find?

The issue isn't the amount of money, but what she's teaching about the role of money and God's attitude toward money.
And God is able to bless you abundantly,
so that in all things at all times,
having all that you need,
you will abound in every good work.

Even if you believe that this verse is talking about wealth (and you left out the part of v 8 that tells us he's talking about grace, not material wealth), there's still nothing in scripture to support Meyer's teaching that God owes us blessings or that we can earn God's blessings by following formulas.

I already had the best of what the world has to offer and I was still damned and on way to Hell becausemy sin had made me an enemy of God.

What God has to offer is so much better that it would be silly to even compare the two.

Should ministers be teaching this?

Youve raised the best questions in this thread Simon!
I do think that ministers should be teaching us about finances in that it's
part of 'equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry" imo.

To expand on what solomon said about the ministry.
OUR field is "the world"
We are to BE the church to the world.
BE AS GOD to the world
as He is so are we, "IN THIS WORLD".

How IS He "in this world"?

Well he's the way and the truth and the Life
When folks meet us, they should be connected
to the kingdom of Heaven, they should experience
God "IN US".

Was it Peter who foiks would get healed from when
he walked down the street?
Do we have that same spirit IN us, that Peter had?

I know I sound crazy, just trying to sort this out
from biblical world view.

So when someone sits next to me, they should
be sitting next to "God in me" too.
And God wants to "manifest" THROUGH me.
(am I right? please feel free to correct me friend)
HOW does He want to manifest through me?
