They like to focus on his "rage tweets" (seems to be a new term now) which is something that seems to be a term that only applies to Trump.

Yeah they hate that he bypasses the filter feature of the MSM so they have to "label" him as being full of rage, a liar or out of control.

I wonder what they "think" they see when they look in the mirror?

Not so much anymore. When he lies, the MSM is not noting that what he says is not true. A good start.

so they have to "label" him as being full of rage, a liar or out of control.

No one denies that he lies a lot more than most elected officials. He loses his composure a good deal of the time, something even WH staff has mentioned. I think his outbursts may have started as a theatrical ploy, but now it appears he can no longer control them.

Friends of the President describe him as embittered by the election losses and troubled by the Mueller investigation. He met Monday with his lawyers to go over a series of written questions from the special counsel. Some of his longtime confidants are worried for his health, believing he's gained weight and looks unwell.
The President's fury at special counsel Robert Mueller burst into view again Thursday morning when he unleashed a string of angry tweets about the special counsel.

Your link doesn't work, besides why would his "friends" want to talk to someone from CNN  They lost all credibility during the first Gulf War and have gotten nothing but worse since

Since they change from day to day, that would be impossible.

Anti abortion
Still wants the wall
Getting tough on China's unfair trade practices
Getting more conservatives on the SCOTUS
Getting rid of Obamacare
Strong economy
Moving US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem
Withdraw from the Paris climate accord
Approve the Keystone XL and Dakota Access pipelines
Open the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to exploration
Renegotiate NAFTA

At least he's keeping his word, even if his detractors refuse to recognize it.
Trump could be the most honest president in modern history

(Barbarian notes Trump's inability to maintain a position on anything but "what's in it for me?"

Anti abortion

He's changed his stance on that more than once in a day.

Donald Trump took 5 different positions on abortion in 3 days

Still wants the wall

Except he's now willing to take some fence as a win. Even if it was put up during the Bush/Obama years.

Getting tough on China's unfair trade practices

TRUMP’S CHANGING CHINA STANCE: Trump’s position that he would keep tariffs in place on China to make sure Beijing “lives by the deal” was a direct result of backlash to a proposed enforcement mechanism that looked a lot like past efforts to rein in the economic giant, sources close to the talks told Morning Trade.

Getting more conservatives on the SCOTUS

Trump picks Gorsuch, Kavanaugh take opposite sides on 2 of 3 Supreme Court rulings Tuesday
Trump picks Gorsuch, Kavanaugh take opposite sides on 2 of 3 Supreme Court rulings Tuesday

Gorsuch appears to be more American than conservative, much of the time.

Getting rid of Obamacare

Except when he's trying to strengthen it:
The president’s Council of Economic Advisers claims in a new report that a trio of health-care changes give consumers more choice and will save them tens of billions of dollars in the next decade. The CEA pegs the overall value of its pro-competitive measures at $450 billion.

At the same time, though, the CEA acknowledges the Affordable Care Act signed into law by former President Barack Obama is not going away. The law commonly known as Obamacare is likely to continue to serve millions of Americans.

“The oft-expressed view that deregulation ‘sabotages the ACA’ by giving consumers more insurance-coverage options is misguided,” the CEA said.
Obamacare saved by Trump? White House says new laws to save Americans billions, but won’t sabotage ACA

Strong economy

More than 90 percent of NABE economists said the increased tariffs that the Trump administration has imposed in its trade conflicts with China and other countries will slow economic growth this year.
Will the US fall into a recession by the end of 2020? Half of business economists think so.

American farmers are running out of patience with President Donald Trump's trade war with China.
Farmers have long stood behind Trump's mission to get a better trade deal with Beijing that addresses long-standing issues with what they say are unfair trading practices.
But after weeks of optimistic statements by Trump and members of his administration about how trade talks were progressing, Trump abruptly escalated tariffs on $200 billion of Chinese goods last week and opened the door to even more -- prompting Beijing to hit back Monday by raising the tariff rate on $60 billion of US items.
The escalated tariffs don't hit agricultural products directly, since most were already facing a 25% tariff imposed by China last year. But the news still sent commodity prices plummeting.
Farmers get impatient with Trump's trade war: 'This can't go on' - CNNPolitics

etc.
etc.
etc.

Want to change Trump’s mind on policy? Be the last one who talks to him.
Want to change Trump’s mind on policy? Be the last one who talks to him.

Google search on "Trump waffles" gets about 1.5 million hits. For the reason mentioned above.

Everyone, including the three wives he betrayed, who trusts Trump, eventually comes to regret it.

Maybe it was an accident or maybe it wasn't, but there was a very crucial word left out of the title to that article and that word is COMMENTARY, which means it is an OPINION and not based on facts.

From your link:

"Don’t get me wrong, Trump lies all the time. He said that he “enacted the biggest tax cuts and reforms in American history” (actually they are the eighth-largest) and that “our economy is the strongest it’s ever been in the history of our country” (which may one day be true, but not yet). In part, it’s a New York thing — everything is the biggest and the best."

Trump promised to balance the budget. He ballooned the debt adding hundreds of billions of dollars of red ink.

He promised a health care system better than Obamacare, and said it would cost less. We still have Obamacare, and his tinkering with it greatly increased costs.

He promised to build a wall on the Mexican border. He's now reduced to pretending repairs to existing fences is a new wall. He also promised that Mexico would pay for it. That's not going to happen.

He promised to be the hardest working president in history. He spends a record amount of time playing golf, and his work days...

The schedule released to Axios differs from schedules the White House sends to the media every day.

According to the report, the president has designated "Executive Time" from 8:00 to 11:00 in the Oval Office, but actually spends these hours in his residence watching television, making phone calls and tweeting.

At about 11:00, the president emerges for his first meeting of the day, which is typically an intelligence briefing.

During the day he has a couple of meetings, with several breaks of "Executive Time" interspersed, and returns to the residence at about 18:00, says Axios.

According to the report, this unscheduled "Executive Time" during the work day is spent in the dining room next to the Oval Office where the president watches cable news.

In one example Axios presented, the president's schedule began at 11:00 with "Policy Time", then "Executive Time" at 12:00, an hour for lunch, followed by more "Executive Time" from 13:30.
Trump’s daily schedule v Obama and Bush

He promised to spend $550 billion on needed infrastructure in the U.S. However, he spent the money on tax breaks for himself and his family and friends, so there's no money to do so.

Lots more, if you want to see more.

It was his policies that people voted for.
Where did his policies differ from the other Republican candidates?

Interviews and polls with Trump supporters say something different. They cite his style (saying what ever is on his mind) and the fact that he is an “outsider” and a “successful” businessman as reasons they voted for him. Let’s face it, the 25% or so of Americans who are loyal Trump supporters aren’t very knowledgeable on policies.

Far more than that voted for him. Not to mention that he now has a 46% approval rating.

Actually, only about 19% of Americans voted for him. Granted the turnout was low enough that it ended up being 46% of the votes cast.

A record 137.5 million Americans voted in the 2016 presidential election, according to new data from the U.S. Census Bureau. Overall voter turnout – defined as the share of adult U.S. citizens who cast ballots – was 61.4% in 2016, a share similar to 2012 but below the 63.6% who say they voted in 2008.

Far more significant than his double-digit deficit in most polls is what is happening to Trump in states that he must win in order to get a second term:
Tracking Trump: The President’s Standing Across America

He must win Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. And he's down by an average of 7.4 points in these states.

And it's not getting better. Use the slider to see how it's changed over time.

The polls lied last time too.

They called it to within 1%, on the average. Would you like me to show you the data?

"The polls lied" is just a story Trump tells, like "millions of illegal voters voted."
