From the time of our spiritual rebirth which we recieve at the time of our salvation, through the gift of our Lord Jesus Christ,we become new spiritual beings, placed by God in a higher spiritual plateau. We are,in a sense, spiritually clothed in new pure white robes though our physical being remains in this world. We are now truly God's children. We now stand above the dirt and grime of sin we were once covered in.It is from this time on the enemy anxiously seeks to tempt us, to in fact soil ourselves. (Stain our robes so to speak, to blemish and corrupt the Lord's children)
Do not let the enemy entice us to soil ourselves by "sinking to it's level."
(As you can remember how he tried to discredit Job by trying to entice him to sin before the eyes of God.)
Also the violence of man is nothing more than another form of sinful lust. To give in and repond to violence with violence is giving into lust.
Remember many of those who assault us are spiritually ill and separated from God and "know not what they do." They are under the devil's influence and power, blinded as we all once were. They are similiar to puppets whose strings are being pulled by their puppet master the devil. They are servants of Satan.
They are in fact truly hurting themselves.
Pr 1:10-18
My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.
If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:
Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:
We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:
Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:
My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:
For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.
Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.
"And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives."
Remember this is also not only an attack on you or I as individuals, it is also an attack against our Lord. Let our Lord deal with it. We are His children and as such let Him fight our battles.
Matthew 25:31-46
When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
We must always remember we always are in the sight of God.
And as such many such circumstances are used by our Lord to test and thereby strengthen our Spiritual growth and can also be used as a form of chastisement for something we thought or act we committed to get us back on that strait and narrow road we must walk.
Do not repond to attack from the the enemy and those under his power or influence by using his weapons, but we are to use the Lord's. In doing so we are in fact heaping coals on the head of all those who fail to repent and accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.
Luke 6:27-36
But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,
Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.
Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

Matthew 5:44-48
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven:for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect
Friend, even if the situation is to such an extreme that if given the choice to either fight or die, choose death, for I know as a born again Christian there is only one physical death, after which I will be home again and present with my Lord.
(For I feel as a foreigner in the world)
I say this with confidence for I've seen and faced death, ordeals through which the Lord has and still sustains me.
(I've had a loaded rifle pointed at me, also tasted the experience of physical near death due to drowning)
Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.
Psalm 7:10-16
My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart.
God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.
If he turn not, he will whet his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready.
He hath also prepared for him the instruments of death; he ordaineth his arrows against the persecutors.
Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.
He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made.
His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate.
Always remember it is a greater sign of strength to turn the other cheek than to take matters in your own hand.
In taking the law into your own hands you take the matter from the Lord and place all the consquences of your actions on your own shoulders. There are always consequences.
Matthew 26:52-53
Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
Be confident all shall recieve their just reward and punishment at the Lord's appointed time. Stay close to the Lord and He will sustain you always, especially in times of adversity for this is the time where the Lord's glory can shine it's brightest in your life.
