I use Internet Explorer because I have other software that depends on it. However, I use Avant as a frontdoor for Internet Explorer, and it seems to reduce the number of lockups and crashes. My OS is Windows 98, so maybe the embedding of Internet Explorer adds other capabilities.

I use different ones for different things so you can vote for more than one browser, just thought it would be interesting to know who uses what.

IE sucks >_<

You have to download loadsa add-ons for it where as Opera has them all on in one program!

I have IE6 with WinMe....

I took a peek into the Opera Browser site, and I'm just curious: is it free?
Also, I'm not interested in having a mail client or anything...I'm more into having a browser only.

BTW, I went through the ENTIRE thread, and I had NO idea what the heck you're all talking about with tags, w3c, the + and the -'s, ad naseum....;)

oh well...mucking around is the best way to learn by trial and error.

Pop killer in Opera, you say? I'd LOVE one!!! nothing is more aggravating than having a FULL screen pop up's that interrupts what I do online! GRRRRRRRRRR!

Yes - opera is free.

Yes - there is a built-in pop up stopper

w3c = wolrd wide web consortium - www.w3c.org.

Another tip - Try and get a different OS, ME sucks just as bad as IE (worse infact)

Windows 2000 is the best on to go for - if you can find it cheep somewhere.

*knocks on wood* I've had ME for over 2 years, haven't had major problems w/ it, there' are times I find myself tweaking it...which I don't mind...helps me be more computer efficient. :) Interesting that either 2000 or XP works better than ME....as it's more stable than ME.

however, I *do* wish they speed up the patch fixes for IE. :rolleyes:
