It CANNOT be proven, short of a time machine.
No one was there to witness the events.
We all take it on faith, based on our own belief paradigms.

There is plenty of evidence of evolution which can be observed right now. Genetic evidence, morphological evidence, geographical distribution, molecular evidence, fossil evidence, observation of evolution and speciation, and so on.

There is no need to take evolution on faith, no more than it's necessary to take gravity or a heliocentric solar system on faith. The evidence is there, visible to all prepared to consider it objectively.
