There's almost half of all Americans who
think there was an ark and that evolution is fake.
They teach such beliefs at home and in their tax supported churches

Evolution is not a "belief ". It's the centerboard of
all of biology.

The religious right constant attempts to replace it with creationism.

Sure, you can point to differences. No two
things are the same.

But it's the same group of religiously motivated
people with the simlarly uninformed ideas. The
same religious prejudice.
There are a lot of Christians who believe that Genesis 1 through 11 is not literal. So half the country is not claiming there was a worldwide flood. There are even Christians who believe in evolution.

OK! I stand corrected.
It's not half.
Try 61% more or less, depending the survey.

Now, enough discursion?
And to the actual topic?
I said its the same group getting excited about
curriculum and banning books, for the same reason,
as the anti evolution folks.

As the anti evolution people are, nearly to the man
totally ignorant about the science, I will hazard
that the book banners are comparably ill educated.

" even"? That's like " there are even educated Christians".
Surely you better regard the religion than that!

And. TOE is not a belief.
Beliefs are matters of faith.

ToE is more like auto mechanics. " Faith" is not
involved.

Some of those books are so explicit they couldn’t show it on television when DeSantis had a press conference and the stations cut the feed. So it’s not just about ignorant people who want to ban books

That survey was 20 years ago. I would think results would be different now. But I concede you’re right, half the country takes the Bible literally. Too bad that not all of them vote

To cite a couple of egregious books is to make
the stopped clock argument.

Which argument is yet another discursion from that
It's the religious right, same people as the would-be evolution banners who are comparably ignorant.

Don't know anything about it but they do know
it's wrong bad unbiblical and they dont Iike it.

Are you denying that?

Kinda like you believe or don't that a combustion engine works.

It's related to you either are or are not living in a fantasy world
Are you on a Christian forum for the sake of disrespecting Christian beliefs and telling us we are living in a fantasy world?

Not wanting sexually explicit material available to children in a public school has nothing to do with religious beliefs. Unless you think fundamentalists are the only ones who are moral. Surely that’s not your position

I’ve seen a combustion engine work. You can demonstrade and prove that it works. And it can be replicated.

Not at all though that seems a rather unfortunate
and uncalled for assumption to make.

Some clearly live in a fantasy. Most do not.

IMO I've far more respect for what I believe is an inherently
noble faith than those who sully it with ignorance and
nonsense.

You cannot but agree that some do that.

Is it not altogether right and proper to speak out
against such falsehoods being spread in the name
of the God they nominally worship?

I'd think you'd welcone an ally rather than assuming
base and ignoble motives on my part!

I don't see it as a discursion. It's part of the "we'll convert your children" agenda. All of a sudden books on abstract sexuality are showing up in elementary school libraries.

They accuse the right of book banning but no books have been banned. You can buy them anywhere. They just tried to get some trash taken out of school libraries

There's nothing new about vetting what kind of reading material goes into elementary school libraries. Banning books would entail eliminating books that have been on the shelves for decades. This is an entirely different matter of stopping new inappropriate material from coming in.
