That's one of the biggest stretches I've ever seen. What they did was an intentionally elaborate provocation. Yes people are free to provoke, no one is denying them that right. But provoking parents isn't ever going to turn out well. As I'm quite sure they knew perfectly will before staging that well planned elaborate stunt. No victim card for them.

I'll be glad to take those who made death threats to task, once I see them. In the meantime I'm taking the chorus to task for doing something so inflammatory, which was then further exacerbated by the "we're coming for your children" chants during pride marches. I can't think of a way to stir up wrath any more than saying something that can be taken as threat to people's children, again no matter how playfully satirical it was supposed to be. It was a stupid thing to do.

Satirical or not, it was very provoking, and I'm quite sure they were fully aware it would be from the very beginning. They can't very well claim to be afraid of the people they, with their smarmy smirks, knew they were going to infuriate.
