I take that as agreement that nowhere in the Gospels does anybody say that all gay people lie. I go further, because no part of the scriptures actually makes that absurd accusation.

By the way do you actually believe the gospels and everything that is written there? If Jesus said something you would believe it? Or are you actually trying to prove something else?

I am an atheist brought up in the Church and rejecting its teachings. How do you expect me to answer that? My interest here is this: a poster made a false statement about Scripture which he - of course - could not back up.

Statements of dogma have their place. Biblical references are valid ways of demonstrating belief. Neither have much traction in debate with people who do not share the same beliefs. Mistakes, misunderstandings and downright lies need to be challenged when they are used to 'prove' a point.

But you are undoubtedly aware that homosexuality is brought up as being sinful much more than other sins, when it is obviously a matter that involves a very small percentage of the population. To the point where we have a poster calling for all gay teachers to be sacked. Should we sack all those who have been divorced? Who have had an abortion? Who might have had sex outside marriage?

My interests are to defend the Gospel and present the Christ in the contriteness that all people are condemned sinners under the law, wherefore Christ came to save not to condemn. Jesus taught grace and forgiveness. Jesus said to not judge lest we be judged, and that we ourselves would be judged by what measure we use to judge others. Wherein the merciful will receive mercy.

I would therefore see it as carnal and hypocritical to pick out particular forms of sin to prosecute, and ironically that would include the hypocritical sin of picking out particular sins to prosecute. The perfection of the saints is therefore charity even when we must judge.

The obvious question to ask is just what in heaven's name somebody's private details have to do with anyone else. Do people say that you can invite someone over for dinner with their girlfriend except if they are sleeping together? Do you need to send then a questionnaire before they can come over. 'Please tick all the boxes that are applicable'. Of course not.

I agree. But I think the confrontation here is more about flaunting sinfulness as not dishonorable and even preferable behavior. It's intentional and meant to push certain buttons to provoke a response. To me, the devises of the devil are written all over this, inviting condemnation and self-condemnation.

I see sexual lust in two forms of manly and effeminate; wanting to lust after others and wanting to be lusted after by others. Both imply a carnal longing fantasizing to be fulfilled, but either way it projects a carnal criterion of self-worth which is why it's demeaning. If I saw a full-grown man wearing nothing but a banana hammock doing acrobatics in front of children, I'd see someone who desperately wants to be lusted after carnally only because I also see a perversity that comes when someone confuses love with lust. We need to teach our children the least demeaning way to project a meaning of self-worth.

There is nothing in the Gospels which claims that all gays are liars. That is something you just made up. That is what I called you on. You could go back and check.

But you're on a thread discussing homosexuality which was set up to criticize gay people. The OP itself shows a fabricated video which purports to link members of a choir with paedophiles. It's outrageous that someone should consider that a reflection of gay people. The vast majority of whom, just like heterosexual people, are living normal lives trying to get by. But what they all have to put up with are threads like this when they are all described as being sinful and obscene. Even to the point where someone is calling for any teacher who is gay to be sacked. That all gay people lie. That all gay people are sexually interested in children.

I realize that there is someone posting in this in this thread that is the epitome of the stereotype that you would like to label everyone who doesn’t support teaching young children things that they are too young for, but not all of us are homophobic bigots who just wish LGBTQ people would stay in the closet.

A great deal of live and let live was established a good twenty years ago.

But that wasn't enough.

LGBT went on to become LGBTQQIP2SAA+ which has to be promoted and celebrated.

And now little kids need to be thoroughly involved in it.

Now there needs to be a whole LGBTQQIP2SAA+ curriculum for little kids.

Now we need LGBTQQIP2SAA+ to make little kids be nice to everyone.

We need LGBTQQIP2SAA+ to reshape society at the kindergarten level to make the world a better place.
