Some schools still teach sexual education. It wouldn't have to be articulated in biblical terms, just basic biological and psychological terminology. The desire to procreate would be described as hormonal, but the curriculum would put emphasis on the debilitating effects psychologically, emotionally, and socially, when people mistakenly base their self-worth on being found sexually attractive. Such affections would include the selfishness of using others to feed one's own narcissism, progressing into predatory tendencies such as pedophilia, rape and incest, misinformed peer pressure, and unwanted pregnancies.

I know the Holy Spirit accompanies the Gospel, but in a secular society the prime motivators in people's lives are still family and relationships. You'd think we'd invest some time and effort on mental health and the value of compassion.

At no time at all did you even attempt to verify that it was genuine. No attempt whatsoever. That says more about the reason why the video was posted in the first place. Just the fact that I'm Christian makes many of them think I'm blind to reality. Love doesn't always consist of placating warm fuzzies. Sometimes love consists of being brutally honest, like Christ was when it was called for.

When the original satirical video had been edited to include gutter level lies about the people appearing in it. That's all the thread has been about: denigrating gay people.

The cross is perseverance in compassion through suffering with others. So yeah, the characterization of warm fuzzies is usually a mockery of those who tickle people's ears. Well, that's the follow up question to my statement. Why do people want it to be true? And I think it's not one single answer.

And following that, I had originally written a few paragraphs giving my views on what those answers were. But we're at a point where someone might try to claim that I am promoting homosexuality by doing so. So I have deleted that. But terms like self righteousness, conservatism, homophobia and conspiracy were used. You can fill in the blanks yourself.

And I appreciate your attempts to convince some that as we are all sinners then we are far from being in a position to denigrate others for their perceived faults. But that's doomed to fail, I'm afraid. Because that's often the reason some give for their right to make such comments. They claim that because they are sinners they have the right to call out others. Hypocrisy is apparently a word missing from their lexicon.

It's more like people use Christianity as a guilt trip towards Christians to get them to stay quiet. Isn't that pretty much what you want, for us to stay quiet?

He was not just severe with the Pharisees. That's another one of Satan's lies. He told the paralyzed man He healed, "Stop sinning or something worse will happen to you". Jesus warned everyone about being cast into hell numerous times.

Biblical Jesus: Preaches God's righteousness. Warns of sin, judgement and hell. Hated and despised by the world. Exalts God the Father's will. Offends the world with the truth.

Secular Jesus: Preaches only on love. Never says anything negative. Loved and accepted by the world. Serves your will, not God's will. Hates to offend you and others.

The current trend is not going to last. I remember when I was a teenager and what was on my mind. When you start telling teenagers “Don’t chase the opposite sex, you can be the opposite sex” it’s not going to be long until huge numbers become conservative
