• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Sorry if the last bit was TMI.

I wonder if they make sheepskin condoms anymore. Oh BTW Niena, you don't need condoms for birth control. All you need to do is do a handstand for 5 minutes and you wont get pregnant. It's true, i heard the Octomom say that in an interview.

Well neither he nor I can have children anyway, the problem is I'm allergic to both latex and non latex condoms as well as HIM, if you get my drift. And yes, that's possible. And it doesn't necessarily mean that if I were widowed and remarried I would be allergic to the other guy either.

I was born lactose intollerant. Thank Goodness I can eat it now. I really might die if I couldn't eat cheese. On everything.

Seasonal allergies, and an unknown ingredient used in a chineese buffet near my house. Idk what it is, never happens at any other chineese restaurant, and its not MSG. We tested for that.

Well, medically speaking, if you were allergic to him, you would be allergic to yourself also. I'm assuming this isn't the case? Does he eat any of the things you are allergic to? That may contribute to you having an allergic reaction since (we're all mature here guys) the genitalia skin cells are larger and have larger spaces in between them. So anything flowing in his blood is now inside your body, and can be absorbed by you into your blood. This is why diseases can be transmitted via sexual intercourse and not by simply holding hands or kissing, etc. It is just because the skin everywhere else in your body has more layers, cells are smaller meaning less space for things to creep inside. Just my $0.02, talk to your doctor. Or try an experiment, don't let him eat anything that you're allergic to for about a week. Longer if you can, and then light some candles and have a nice night. See what happens, but do this at your own risk. I don't want to be responsible for you going into anaphylactic shock or anything like that :D

It's possible to be allergic to the sperm of a particular man. That's what's going on. I can hold hands, hug, everything else but not this. I was trying to refrain from TMI.

Im allergic to seafood and spicy curry - its linked to my sense of taste and smell because both of these are strong. On a side note I know its to do with strong taste and smell because anything with a strong smell it upsets my stomach. Its not to do with a skin reaction for me.

just lately I discovered that I have allergic rhinitis, it makes me sad as I have to be more careful not to be overly exposed on dust, i could not do the things I have been doing before anymore. :) and about food, one time as i was eating shrimps during lunch and after dinner i had red spots and i was itching, I thought maybe because of the shrimp I ate, but I do not understand, I have been eating always and that time I think I got allergies.. why is that?

I am allergic to everything pretty much and should be living in a bubble. I take many vitamins and especially alfalfa and vitamin C. I also take make sure all of my cleaning products, grooming products and laundry products are biodegradable/organic products as much as is possible. My deodorant is organic and still it causes numbness but I can survive with it. I spend up to $600.00 a month on these extra products. Eating organic food has cut my allergies by a half.

I am allergic to any product derived from cows milk, strawberries, peanuts, almonds, bananas and grass pollen. The only two that are life threatening are my allergies to strawberries and bananas, everything is is just annoying and make my eyes/face swell up a little whilst turning me into a bit of an itchy tomato.

I just now got allergies and I am 27. Well, I went to Australia a year ago and had them BAD there, the pharmacist told me what they were (I thought I was getting a cold) and now I get them every spring. Weird? Well, now I have a lot more empathy for my friends who complain about them every spring.
No food allergies, though!

I am allergic to Rumuda grass( hay fields across the road) ragweed ( live in the country ) dogs (have two), cats (have two), but my biggie is mold. I cannot even have houseplants anymore! Mold will knock me to my knees and to the doctor! I take weekly shots; meds for the others. As long as I stay away from mold, I do well, but that leaves out camping, fishing and swimming at the lake; being very careful when raking the leaves and working in my garden.

Other than that.... life is great!

I just found this section, oh my gosh I have so many allergies. Foods, dust, mold, pollen, grass, cleaners, soaps, lotions.... The list goes on :( Just walking by someone in school with a certain lotion or perfume can ruin my whole day. It get so frustration sometimes. ;( it has way to much control over my life!!! The headaches are so painful, I am thankful its not something life threatening but ugh! Sometime all I can do is cry and not leave the house because if I take benedryl I can't drive. :/ I'm pretty sure I'm allergic to my dog too but I love her so I don't care. I feel like moving to Antarctica with the penguins, but I'm probably allergic to them too.
