Ralph Breaks the Internet (2018)
The first one is a masterpiece. This one is a step back. It's still good, very creative, Ralph & Vannelope still great characters. It's just not as good as the original & I'm not sure how I feel about the ending. I get tired of movies that encourage to break away from patterns & traditions. It seemed a tad bit out of her character to me.

I give this a 4/5

The air currents where this guy flies his gliders are surreal. This is one of his own designs, and the parachutist is a nice touch! When I was a kid, I used to make parachutes out of handkerchiefs and bandanas for my G.I. Joe figures. They worked pretty well. Someday, I’d like to build a plane capable of dropping a similar payload. Hopefully, when I do, the parachutes won’t get stuck in trees as often as they did in the backyard of my childhood home.

Kiki's Delivery Service
I want to watch more Studio Ghibli movies & the library had this one. It's plot is a little too simple, but Kiki is sweet & easy to cheer for.

I give this a 4/5.

HBO Rome.

I love the Augustus character. He seems to have like autism... lol. He's just so monotone... factual and blunt... lol.

Rome was a good series. It had some issues but overall very good.

As a 'sequel' series I highly recommend I, Claudia from BBC. It was made in the 1970s but is outstanding. John Hurt plays the insane Caligula. He played the role to the hilt. Another good character is Livia played by Sian Phillips.

I think my dad watched that

IIRC, aren't there some gay scenes in it?

I actually cannot recall any such scenes in the show. There is nudity, but it's often in a non-sexual manner. While an HBO show, the show tries to stay classy. It's not like that trash "Spartacus" on Showtime. The gratuitous nudity was driving me insane... I'm not some puritan.. but that show could have toned itself down. Just because you can doesn't mean you should, lol.

Rewatching it now.. yeah I guess there are a few now.. lol.

Although 99% of the relationships are heterosexual. This show was made in the 2000s decade, I imagine it would be a lot different if it were made now, lol.

Yeah I've been searching for that series. Seems like Roku has one through their subscription service... but eh.

Scooby Doo & The Loch Ness Monster
Bleh, pretty much just an extended TV episode. I watched it expecting that, just needing something simple to watch after work, so not sure why I found it so meh. Watch it only if you need something simple to watch to help de-stress.
I guess I did like the 2 monster twist tho. The monster itself was pretty menacingly animated too.

I give it a 3/5.

I liked him too. I didn't watch it when it was on. I saw it years later. But the fact I liked him says a lot about my head back then!

There are a bunch of programs leaving the streaming service on both Netflix and Amazon, so I have watched some old favorites before they left, including Chappie (2015), District 9 (2009), great South African movies. There is something about South African science fiction movies like that which I think is just fresh. Then the John Wick movies, a documentary about Blacks bleaching their skin to a ligher colour to attract the opposite sex in Nigeria Africa (I didn't know their culture was that colouristic for a Black nation!). From movies that are not being removed or expiring from a streaming service, I freely chose a re-watch of Independence Day (1997) when I had trouble sleeping and wanted to pure fun-watch to get my mind off the insomnia, and Moonfall (2021) which seems like a fun-watch as well

Most of these movies are started on a 8 inch Tablet device, but are completed in a VR headset or Home Theater, (VR is easier to access than Home Theater) when I reach a 40-50% point of the movie (ie usually when things usually ramp up in a storyline anyway).

I'm looking forward to the release of Stranger Things in July 1st, although, my interest in the show had dropped during the gap between vol 1 and vol 2 especially after re-watching some of these fun-watch old favorites.

It's good to be around a bunch of Christians who don't think that watching movies or TV-shows is idolatry. Makes me feel so much better about it. What a nice forum.
