...with stronger female leads?

Better musicianship too.

Do you play any other instrument than banjo ( not that there's anything wrong with banjo I dig it)? I've played guitar and bass for about 25 years looking to try another stringed instrument. Maybe mandolin.

I can barely play a banjo brother! haha Just recently I hooked up with another banjo player and a guitar player so my playing has improved.

I own 2 banjos, mandolin, harmonica(s), alto recorder, guitar and have played concert flute but I just stick with banjo. I find it to be a happy sound.

I tune the guitar to open G (spanish) and frailing it like a banjo once in a while. Mando's are hard on the fingers but easy to strum out a few tunes.

Ever play with a slide?

I have a slide I'm not very good with it.

Ever consider a banjo? Frailing is fun and pretty easy. It took a week to get the bum-i-ditty down and I was off.

A harmonica really helps to get me out of a slump in my playing. If I'm working a difficult song I mess with the harmonica and it seems to help workout the tune in my head.

Some 6 string banjo with a slide (not me).

Have you ever played a dobro? I love the old country blues of Charlie Parker on a dobro. You could always get a dobro and play it like a guitar, up right I mean instead on your lap. In the banjo world we have a Dojo (dobro banjo) by Gold Tone and I've often thought of getting one.
