I've never understood, How people are "born" evil/sinful in some Christian Theology.


You haven't done anything when you're born...Is it sort of like Karma in that consequences carry over into your next life? That doesn't label you as a "good" or "evil" person though.

Or how do Christians explain being a sinner when you're just born? Really confused on this one...

No I am not going against scripture, you just don't know how to rightly divide the word of God.

But if everyone consents, it's not a malicious violation of the
marriage bed (what my dictionary (Websters Collegiate)defines adultery as. Who does it hurt? I say no one, and thus, no moral code violation.

The term "fornication" and its derivatives would probably give you a little more flexibility in your sermons, poppet.

Here is a question. What are the Atheist doing in the Non-Christian RELIGION section?

Because the limitations of the site (imposed way long ago) classified atheism and humanism as "religions" for purposes of defining forum access.

They did go paperless a while ago, since dominion over a deforested plain seemed a little...boring. Who wants to rule a dirt parking lot?

REALLY off topic, but I wanted to point out that I'm proud of the fact that I don't "report" people who post things I don't like. To me it's a sign of maturity and intellect. But without fail have my own posts reported when debating with those who make the most outlandish claims and show a total lack of critical thinking skills and logic. Have you ever successfully converted someone by using these tactics? If not, maybe you should consider using something a little less accusatory and confrontational. I can almost 100% guarantee you that there isn't a single person going to hell because they told one lie. In fact, that person doesn't exist. You will not go to hell because you messed up once. You will go to hell because you have never done ANYTHING but sin. The Bible makes that very clear.

if you have not dialoged or read many of his posts you will discover that he is not actually interested in conversion, per se, simply fulfilling his obligation to tell us the "good news" of our impending eternal torture and pain. once he's done that he can satisfactorily sit in front of the Great White Throne and explain that he told everyone about it but our hearts were hardened. if i recall correctly, you get more jewels in your crown if you do that sorta thing... though, to be fair, it's been awhile since i've dialoged with him and his views may have changed.

Here goes the blame game. Why is it that God is the blame? The Bible is definitive in explaining that the first man was complete and not sinful. It wasn't until man sinned that he became corrupt. God made a perfect creation. Man's misuse of his free will is what caused his fallen spiritual and physical nature. To blame God would be to not acknowledge scripture. If you don't believe scripture, then you can at least acknowledge what is written from a Christian perspective. God is no more the blame than your parents are when you go out and rob a store, provided that they raised you to not rob stores.

God is omniscient and omnipotent. It's kinda difficult to avoid responsibility under those circumstances.
