Getting ready to head to work. Normally I’d leave in the morning, but am afraid the roads will be icy. So going in tonight and will sleep in my truck (semi).

There's a joke about feeding toddlers that you might as well take the ingredients and throw them straight in the bin, saving yourself the hassle of cooking, unsuccessful coaxing, and cleaning up.

I am feeling really enthused about a meeting I just had; there's a local facility which does residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation for adolescents, and I've just met with their manager and begun a partnership with the parish where we will be able to provide some spiritual and practical support to their residents and staff.

Today, I am marking essays and in about 10 minutes, I'm going to teach a biology class *gulp* I feel like a jack of all trades. I have to say that I never thought I would be asked to teach so many different subjects in my life. I spent all Sunday afternoon studying biology so I could teach it...but I did learn that genetics is interesting.

Just got back from renewing my drivers license. MD has upgraded to “Real ID” so i had to take a lot of paperwork I never had to before, like my Social Security card and either a birth certificate or passport. Plus the normal proof of insurance, and 2 utility bills to prove residency.

I actually got thru the place in 2 hours. Amazing.
Time before last time was over 4 hours. Last time I renewed by mail; but with the upgrade, that was not allowed this time.
