Spoiler alert. I am or rather just finished watching season 5 of 'The Chosen'.
I watched up to season 4 which I finished around 2 years ago and I kept checking for the next season and it never came out. So I gave up. But a few weeks ago I was bored and I checked and it was available on Prime I think. But you can also watch this on the creators site called 'The Chosen' by Angel Studios I think.
Anyway I watched all 8 episodes in a week, But it was the last episode that made me want to see season 6 and I don'yt want to wait another year or two.
I thoroughly enjoy this type of TV as its based on a true story. Though some artistic licence is used. But done in a good way that brings to life I think what it may have been like. Making it more real.
The problem is it becomes so real that I got upset when the final episode ended on Judas's kiss to betray Jesus. It cut right at that scene before the guards arrest Jesus and Peter I think cuts the guards ear off and Jesus heals him.
I think season 6 which I think is either just finishing or just became avilable is primarily all about the arrest and trial of Jesus before the Sanhedrin and then Pilot and then finally Christ crucifixtion.
I would then imagine that this part of the series is going to be pretty heavy going. I remeber Mel Gibsons 'The Passion' was pretty heavy. In fact I heard from the filming that when filming the crucifixtion the cast had to stop as they were overcome by the experience.
The interesting aspect of the Chosen is that its about the apostles and how they went from small village fisherman or locals to mighty men who went on to spread the gospel and build Christ church. So I am not sure that the series will go further beyond Christ but it would be interesting if it does.
Perhaps then extending until Paul and showing how the early church grew and was also persecuted. Bringing to life this period in early Christianity.
