I occasionally watch some true crime stuff. Interrogations can be really interesting. But the narrations of that body language stuff can be ridiculous. If you lean forward, you're guilty. If you lean back, you're guilty. Cross your legs or uncross your legs, you're guilty, lol.

Yeah. I am someone who has trouble not smiling when it's inappropriate. It's not that I am happy or trying.. but I am just awkward probably from overthinking. I get tense and scared that I will smile.. that it kind of just happens.

RIP David Lynch. I only got into his work recently because someone I know really likes his films. She recommended Blue Velvet. Honestly the movie somewhat disturbed me and I didn't like it until the final act of the film when it all clicked together.

I will have to watch his other catalog of films. I have seen The Elephant Man multiple times throughout my life but I never knew recently who the director was. I do love that film, and the ending is one of those rare films that actually makes me cry.

A thread to post what you are currently watching or plan to watch soon.

This is also a place to leave reviews of what you just watched if you so choose.

As for me I am currently watching The Pacific. Enjoying it thus far. A little more gruesome at times than I thought it would be. Cannot help but wonder what World War 2 was like for my grandfather. Although he was stationed in Europe. I do somewhat envy those who were able to live through such important times.

As for what I plan to watch soon.. probably Scanners.
Watching 24 all seasons

:(

I LOVED Twin Peaks. The music is incredible! Sadly many of those actors, producers etc have since passed away.

I haven't seen Blue Velvet or The Elephant Man in 10+ years.

I really want to watch Mulholland Drive with Naomi Watts if I ever have the time.

So I guess you haven't seen his first film Eraserhead? If you thought Blue Velvet was disturbing, you're in for a treat. Eraserhead makes Blue Velvet look like a Hallmark movie. That film is the reason I never got married.

I should add that Blue Velvet was mainly disturbing to me for personal reasons. There are probably some films others view as very disturbing where I would be like .. meh.

While given that it is from the same director I might find Eraserhead even more disturbing.. depending on the subject matter I might find it quite tame.

Although I won't lie.. I have been aware of this movie for years.. and just the name and the box art has always disturbed me, lol.

Ad Astra (2018). Starring Brad Pitt, Tommy Lee Jones, Donald Sutherland, and Liv Tyler. Although it's a sci fi movie it deals with psychological issues such as dealing with personal loss, relationships, depression. The main character compartmentalizes everything and can cope with tremendous stress, but it takes a heavy toll on those around him.

Videos on the Battle of Eylau that took place February 7th to the 8th, 1807 between the French Grande Armee under Napoleon I and the armies of the Russian and Prussian Empires. On February 8, 1807, French Imperial Guard Cavalry charged the Russian lines in the middle of a blizzard. The charge was led by General Murat (Napoleon's brother-in-law). It was one of the greatest cavalry charges in history. It broke the Russian lines and gave the French time for reinforcements to arrive under Field Marshal Ney.

Union of Salvation (2019). A Russian film about the Decembrist Revolt (26 December 1825). 3,000 soldiers assembled in Senate Square in St. Petersburg to revolt against the new Tsar, Nicholas I. Nicholas I put down the revolt as it was poorly organized. The rebels wanted a more liberal government and were inspired by the American and French Revolutions. Loyalists feared a revolution of that type could lead to a Reign of Terror like it had in the French Revolution.

Ran (1985) by Akira Kurosawa. Ran means 'Chaos' or "Tumult'. The film shares a similar plot with Shakespeare's play King Lear. In Ran a Sengoku Jidai war lord or daimyo has three sons. He decides to divide his territory between them. One son refuses and is forced to flee. The two remain sons soon ending up in conflict and dishonoring their father. The film has a very bloody ending.
I like the film's use of color, especially when it is applied to the sons and to the third son's allies. The film is bleak and is a tragedy in every sense of the word, but it is still an excellent film and superbly told story. It is my favorite of Akira Kurosawa's films. However, his films Blood Throne, Yojimbo, Sanjuro, Kagemusha, and Seven Samurai are also quite good. Sadly, I have yet to see Rashomon.

I remember Cobra Kai. That show is something else, lol.

Yeah. It's low budget, but I found it to be fun. I was always been a Karate Kid fan since the time I was a teenager, and it's more of a nostalgia thing, I think.

Seinfeld. Probably one of the rare shows where I thought the last season was the best. The writing was getting off the rails.. but frankly I liked that.

The last season had festivus, and one of my favorite episodes where Kramer finds the Merv Griffin set in a dumpster and decides to put the set in his apartment.

I know a lot of people hated the finale, but I actually liked it. Especially with the characters going to prison at the end.
