Ooo, this movie has stereophonic sound. Does sound a lot better than Seven Samauri. This film was done in the 1960s.. hoping the action is a little less awkward looking.

I do feel bad... Akira Kurasawa's cinematography... really yearns for a steady cam. Too bad that technology didn't come out until the mid 70s. A major reason films after that look much less static. Although I know he directed some films after that time period. Curious what they're like. I'll get to them in time.

Misery. Not an Akira Kurasawa film. I like his movies thus far.. but right now, my attention span isn't the greatest... and I'd rather just watch a good movie I've seen before.

Also, it's Halloween time... so it kind of fits. I really want to watch Carrie... but it's not on any of my streaming subscriptions sadly.

This movie is more disturbing than I remember. Maybe it's because I recently dealt with a woman who was into me... who exhibiting some of the same traits as the Kathy Bates character.

Like Fatal Attraction... I do feel this is one of the male specific genre of horror films.

To tie your two threads together...

Have you tried playing "Ghost of Tsushima" in Kurosawa mode?

I haven't tried it yet. Is it just a black and white filter? Or does it add something else?

I do like the vivid option.

Black and white, film grain, and Japanese audio with English subtitles. It even adds a graininess to the audio quality too.

I tried it after I beat it the first time, and it did give me the authentic Kurosawa-feel to the presentation, but I didn't stick with it because I think color is too important in that game to cut it out.

That's interesting. Gives me more incentive to try it out.

Rush Hour. I don't know why.. just lazy.. popped up in my HBO Max suggestion feed. I like Jackie Chan. Seen this movie.. but it's been ages.. and I don't really remember any of it.. so it's pretty much like watching it for the first time.

Cartoon Network is celebrating its 30th anniversary and showing cartoons for free on YouTube.

Find it relaxing. Just dreading another work week... trying to get back to the mindset of just being a kid watching cartoons. Although as a kid I was a bigger Nickelodeon fan. That and the Disney channel is all we had for kid networks for a while, until we moved in the late 90s. I was shocked another kid cartoon channel existed. I really loved Dexter's Labatory... but could have sworn I saw it once on Nickelodeon years earlier. Dexter's Labatory and the Powerpuff Girls were probably the only cartoons I ever really liked on the Network though. Until I discovered Adult Swim some years later.

Also, kind of miss the feeling of live TV. Like you're watching something with a large audience.

Beetlejuice. I really don't care for Tim Burton's style... but this film is alright.

I do love Michael Keaton's performance in this.

Ed Wood is probably my favorite Tim Burton film... sadly I don't see it on any of my streaming subscriptions. Probably watch that instead... but this movie is alright... good for escapism... which I really need right now.

I cant wait to hate-watch the Rings of Power season finale tonite!
I watched LoTR Fellowship Of The Rings extended version to compare to Rings of Power, and the latter comes off as utter garbage. Of course Peter Jackson had the advantage of JRR Tolkien as primary writer.

Aww cool, the second season of Barbarians just dropped on Netflix... Been looking forward to a new season for a while. The series can be a little overly dramatic at times, but the cinematography and costume design is really good. Just generally interested in ancient Roman settings, and also curious to see how my ancestors might have lived during such times.

This seer or prophet or whatever you want to call her is funny. Back then she was respected as some holy woman... if she were born today, she'd be some crazy cat lady who'd try to give you rambling advice on a street corner as you tried to politely get away as soon as possible.

Gargoyles. It's an early 70s made for TV movie. The best part is the gargoyles who look pretty good for the budget. I like that they are decently unique design wise and have a king and queen. Oh, and them coming out of eggs is cool too.
