The Wedding Singer. Never seen it.. but I feel like it's one of those rare Adam Sandler films that is good/or at least tolerable. Also, a young Drew Barrymore is cute.

Sandler is know for his movies having heart and soul.

Depends on who's directing them. He's worked under some talented directors before. Honestly... it's a little amazing the kind of garbage and great movies he's been in.

So far.. not liking this film very much.

Charming movie. Where a pretty woman learns that money and good looks in a partner doesn't matter but instead it's just about "true love" and the guy learns.. the same.. I guess.. even though he's not good looking... poor.. and probably wouldn't like her if she wasn't pretty.

Corner Gas. While not a Canadian I did grow up with this show. Only found out about it because a Canadian person I talked to online told me about it. I found the idea of a show based on a gas station interesting and decided to try it out. Turned out I really liked it. I've heard the show found some sucess overseas... although in America people seem ignorant about it. Just kind of find it fascinating that widely popular show in one border country is pretty much virtually unheard of in another. The actors in the show are probably well known in Canada but cross into America and they're just like anyone else.

Used to watch it on the Nintendo Wii internet browser on Youtube. That was like 15 years ago.. just makes me nostalgic.

They finally demolished the gas station a couple years ago. Great tourist attraction.

That's too bad. Never realized you were a Canadian.

I heard the Corner Gas animated ended too. Never really got into that. Seemed to Family Guy-ish for my tastes. Is the popularity of the show in Canada mostly gone now?

Finally got around to watching the new Beavis and Butthead revival.

I'll be honest... from the one and a half episodes I've seen... I don't really care for it. Doesn't quite match the tone the original show had during the 1990s. I always thought even that original run, the first two seasons were not very good. Ironically the show got better when the Network forced the writers to tone down sone objectional themes. Like Beavis's obsession with burning things, and other antics like them getting high off stove gas. Sometimes more creativity comes out of censorship. I just feel like these new episodes are not toned enough down.

That's what I really like about the show. Mike Judge said that he was pressured by other writers to have episodes with Beavis and Butthead going to Paris and whatnot... but he just wanted them to hang out in a parking lot or doing other low-key things. Just had a strange quirky and funny atmosphere too it. I feel like these new ones are trying to be more modern like Rick and Morty and the like. Well, especially the movie that was released. Seems like most reviewers like it and say the show hasn't changed at all. Perhaps I'm just being too sensitive to any changes, lol.

I'll give the rest of the episodes a shot. I know there is one where they are in their 40s. Always found that concept interesting.

Alex Haley's "Queen".

Kind of sad to hear Alex Haley was a fraud... still... I liked this miniseries. Fraud or not he managed to captivate a nation. I liked Roots (at least the first half... kind of fell part into nonsense after that).

Although rewatching this series... I don't like it as much.

As someone who is against white guilt. When it comes to slavery movies, I do wish they were more accurate. Sick of these noble white characters. One thing that bugs me about movies... if a movie takes place during this time period... the main white character always somehow manages to have late 20th/ early 21st century values or as close to it as possible that the script allows.

The worst case I've seen is in that film "The Patriot". The Mel Gibson character is surrounded by black people helping him out.. one of the pompous British persons refers to them as slaves, and the Mel Gibson character is like.. "no.. they're not slaves... they're free men... I pay them".

That movie has so many other problems too... although it is fun to watch and mock it. I'm proud about being an American and all that... but that movie is so incredibly overly biased and sappy when it comes to Americans or I guess "pre" Americans in this case depending how you look at it.

I've noticed German movies tend to do the same. All the German soldiers are like indifferent or hate the Nazis... and only a few soldiers like the Nazis and they're usually hated by everyone else.

I guess I'll watch this series tonight... have nothing else to really watch... do somewhat feel like picking back up on the Sopranos. Finished the first season but later abandoned it. Not that I hated it.. not sure why I stopped watching.
