Have you noticed in these extravaganza 2.5 hour action movies these days that 2 hours of them are mindless action sequences to fill in time?

I haven't. I don't really watch modern films very often.

Just finished watching Wonder Woman 1984 (2020). As it turns out, I just wasted two-and-a-half hours of my life on an absolutely rubbish movie. It was awful. I give it 2/10. (If it wasn't for the action bits involving Kristen Wiig as the antagonist Barbara Minerva, I would have given it a solid zero. Imagine that, Kristen Wiig saving a movie.)

Curb Your Enthusiasm. Never seen this show but heard it's great. Curious to see what a Larry David project after Seinfeld is like. So far, it's kind of similar in tone... but the cinematography is much different. Looks more like home movies than anything. A little shock at the low production values.

As far as humor goes, it's alright. Of course, I'm only 1/4 into the first episode so take my view with a grain of salt.

Jurassic Park 3. Despite being a huge fan of the series as kid, this is the only one I ever actually saw in theaters. Was mind blowing at the time. Now... it's clearly not as good and filled with so many plot holes... but for a mindless action flick... it's kind of fun. Much better than the Jurassic World movies.

Of course, I might be somewhat biased by nostalgia.

The Postman Always Rings Twice. Been in a Jack Nickolson kick lately. While I love him as an actor, he's been in a lot of movies and a lot of movies I've never seen.

I've always kind of viewed him as the first modern actor.

Anger Management.

Been a while since I've seen an Adam Sandler film.. but ughhh.. this film was pretty awful. I feel dirty for watching it. But I had Jack Nickolson in it.. and I had to watch it.

Austin Powers. Seen clips here and there, but never actually watched the movie. Despite growing up as a kid in the 90s when this movie was so popular. Honestly, I'm not sure how I managed to never actually see any of them. I've heard these films haven't aged well. So far... it's certainly funnier and more creative than Anger Management. That isn't saying a lot.. but I'm not totally bored... and some moments make me laugh.

I love Curb. It was weird how low budget the first season looked, but that was before they realized what a mega-hit HBO had on it's hands. The second season on looks like you would expect. It's kind of just more Seinfeld though, so folks that didn't like that probably won't like this. Well, Seinfeld if it was called "Costanza" lol.

Austin Powers 2. The one with Heather Graham in it. For some reason I have a movie crush on her. Always liked cute actresses who were not afraid to poke fun of themselves in comedies. A woman with a sense of humor is a huge turn on.

Master and Commander: The Far Side Of The World.

Been ages since I've seen this film... remember little of it.. so it's pretty much like watching it for the first time again.

Amusing that the actor who plays Augustus (Octavian) in HBO's Rome is in this. He looks so young. That's sadly pretty much his career... this film and that TV show.

Pretty boring movie. Shot and acted well.. but I don't know.. I needed something a little less slow burn.

The Bounty (1984). Seen this film before and liked it. Has a lot of big stars in it, some were not well known at the time. Like Liiam Nesson, Mel Gibson, Daniel Day-Lewis and Anthony Hopkins.
