Our first Gig was a Battle of the Bands at a youth conference, we won and played at the night ralley for 800 people. We have played for just under 1000 people a couple of times. Played for bout 1500 at a local park gig a few months back.

I live in a country town In Australia, so thats ok. The best is yet to come...

I play a few festivals every year that normally range between 5000-7000. The biggest may have been opening for Avalon or FFH.
I actually prefer the much smaller & more intimate audience.

Floyd Cramer, he was just recently inducted into the country music hall of fame and the rock and roll hall of fame in february, making him one of less than 10 people in the world who is honored in both. ;)

I'm not a pianist, but I listened & watched to Floyd Cramer all the time when I was growing up. He was great & a class act that couldn't be beat!....He'd be #1 on my piano list!
btw...what are the names of the others in your family that you mention?

On May 1st, my band is opening for Leon Russell (www.leonrussellrecords.com) at Featherfest in Springdale, AR. There should be a few thousand people there. In 2003, there was about 5,000 people for the opening and main acts. So, we're excited and looking forward to it. This will be our biggest gig to date.

I have a few really good ones from back when I was playing in the secular scene about 6 years ago -
Opened up for Machinehead, Drain STH and Corrosion of Conformity (the best gig by far) at an outdoor concert.
Some of the other bands that my band opened shows for in smaller clubs :Dokken, Dio (great gig!), L.A.Guns and Tora Tora. They were old school, but those shows were a lot of fun, especially in the small club environment.

We play some fair size gigs although most of our time is spent in coffee houses. Ours is a ministry first and a music act second. We play mostly non-Christian coffee houses. We were doing a regular gig at Ft Bragg in a coffee house on post before 9-11. Also, We did open for a national Christian act (dove and grammy winners) down in SC last year.

The biggest gig I've done was in our church opening for Roberto Orellana. I know most of you don't know who he is because he sings in spanish but when he came, the church was packed. We even had to get out extra chairs for the people and we still needed more. I didn't even had a place to sit and we opened the concert. can you believe that?

My biggest was probably 100 people at a function at my school, sponsored by the Hopkins Christian Fellowship. Me and a friend played 3 songs on our classical guitars: Jeux Interdits (Pepe Romero), Cana (an original) and Stranger (Joe Kail).
I played rhythm while he went crazy on lead up and down the fretboard, so I wasnt too nervous because nobody paid much attention to me, and I kind of liked it like that :).

Largest crowd? My death metal band, 600 people at a 'heavy metal' party. It was sw33t, METALLICA was THERE. Sort of an exclusive record company thing, our band doesn't want to get signed, but we play for these guys a lot.

Most Money? Art Rock band, $700 EACH. Symphony X opener. Last minute, Galaxy Theater, 1 hour set. It was awesome.
