"And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God." -! John 5:11-13The Pharisees think the are redeemed. There are many who call on Jesus thinks they are redeemed but are not.
There are many who thinks they are unregenerate but are redeemed. I'm giving examples from the Bible.
So how do you determine you are redeemed? According to examples given in the Bible, you cannot.
This means you cannot completely trust even yourself. Keep testing even things you already believe. Perhaps, never settle on a set of beliefs, keep testing them.
I'm aware that Apostle Paul gave teachings to become "redeemed" in Romans 10. But it's only an instruction... How would you know you have truly believed, how would you know you are truly calling on the lord?? Because we have Matthew 7:22-23 to remind us know we can't be certain.
Most Christians hate the notion of uncertainty but it's the only thing that seems certain in this world.
Italics and bold print for emphasis. What you described is a miserable way of living. Sorry, but I've been down that road of uncertainty before, and it led to nothing but pain and insanity. Let God be true and every man a liar. Hear the words of the apostle Paul. It's a testimony that every believer can share.
2 Timothy 1:12 - "For I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day."
