It's quite interesting that even with the improved sensitivity, and better triangulation capacity with Virgo, the 03 LIGO run has still been unable to duplicate a single new example of "multimessenger astronomy". LIGO has been unable to verify their gravitational wave claims based on EM measurements or neutrino measurements since 2017. There have been over 40 new GW wave notifications in 2019, and yet not a single one of them has been verified by any external telescope or neutrino detector. The lack of any example of multimessenger confirmation in the O3 LIGO/Virgo run seems pretty suspicious considering all the problems with the original LIGO paper.

Evidence of gravitational waves, or evidence of confirmation bias?

I agree.

I assumed that one of two things would happen with this this current (03) observation run: Either 1): my various criticisms of their methodology would finally be put to rest because LIGO/Virgo would repeatedly replicate their multi-messenger support of their methodology, or 2): they would ultimately paint themselves into a corner by being *unable* to replicate any sort of multi-messenger support over a much larger set of supposed "GW signals". The later scenario seems to be playing out at the moment.

I must say that I'm not the least bit surprised that LIGO has struggled this year with multi-messenger support for their methodology. It's never looked like particularly "bullet proof" methodology from my perspective, mostly because of blip transient issues, and the strong possibility of terrestrial origins of their signals. As time goes by, it looks more and more like they've got serious "blip transient problems" and they really have no idea what causing them. Gravity spy seems to be a step in the right direction.

Looking at the (sometimes) two letter suffix at the end of the supposed "GW signals", it's apparent that they have quite a few "glitches" taking place that seem to show up in multiple detectors with regular frequency. That alone makes me think they're still very likely to paint themselves right into a corner.

I'll have to wait and see how the whole O3 run plays out, but at the moment I'd have to say that it doesn't bode well for LIGO. With all the hoopla and Nobel's handed out, it would sure be a shame to see the whole thing blow up in their face, and turn into another Joseph Weber scenario, but that looks to still be a strong possibility IMO.

Time will tell.....
