You mean "convince themselves."They want too prove it to themselves.
Who is "Yahweh"?The want scientific evidence for Yahweh. That is why they try to claim that science process the Bible on these suggestions
You have no idea what I mean by my user title, do you?Well, if that is how you want to live your life, you are fully entitled. But I would guess, that everyday of your life, you have personally been impacted (in a very positive way in which you would not want to give up) the many advances in science you so disdain.
Is it now?You also say the answer to Wendy Wright's stance with Richard Dawkins is "faith"? I would have no problem if you said; "Wendy Wright has faith in the existence of God", but using faith in terms of her denial of evolution and or the age of man is ignorance.
I see what 'abundance of evidence' can do to something. If an abundance of objective evidence is available, you don't need a leap of faith to get at the truth, all you need to do is open your eyes.
You mean risk their paychecks? There is a difference between faith and blind faith and Wendy is exhibiting the "blind" type when she refuses to accept objective evidence that even many renowned Christian scholars have now had to recently accept as fact, or risk their credibility being undermined.
A society today might "move forward" technologically, but morally, it leaves behind a trail of ... well ... immorality.IMO, a society moves forward when blind faith is exceeded by the truth that science can provide.
Wait until the Author of that Bible shows up.Yes, science has slowly debunked much of which is stated in the bible as fact...
Uh - huh.... and that will likely continue to progress as science progresses.
Who cares how old they are?The Bible never states how old earth, the universe, or humanity are.
74Where did you get this from?
You obviously have no understanding of scientific method. Science observes (with open critical eyes) and the work of science has allowed us to understand the "rules of the universe".
A society today might "move forward" technologically, but morally, it leaves behind a trail of ... well ... immorality.
AV1611VET said:You mean "convince themselves."
Again, a scientist has no reason ... as far as I know ... to be using the term "proof."
It's okay for them to say "magic," instead of "miracle;" but "prove," instead of "convince" is out of the question.
After all, they make the rules.
Who is "Yahweh"?
Wait until the Author of that Bible shows up.
We'll see who gets "debunked," won't we?
Revelation 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
When all that evidence flees at the Great White Throne Judgement, all God is going to have to do to those who demanded evidence from Christians, is say, "Show Me;" and the shoe is going to be on the other foot.
These scientists will say, "Um ... it was right here a minute ago!?"
Uh - huh.
Not this creationist; this creationist is pretty vocal about the non-existence of evidence ... let alone proof.Creationists are thin brained. They want proof, not just conviction.
I beg your pardon?Yahweh is the name of the father gods you worship.
Ya ... no kidding.Scientists work with evidence.
And you have the right interpretation?creationists operate with a misinterpretation of the Bible, ex.Genesis,
Not this creationist -- but it doesn't matter, does it?and swear that science proves the Bible.
I don't have to tell my Dad; He already knows. This is the equivalent of "you wait till I tell my dad, then you'll be sorry". Most people grow out of that by their 50s.
You'd better believe it!AV1611VET,
I guess ignorance is bliss.
Nope.If God blessed us with scientists, then I would guess we should take them seriously as science has blessed itself with rigorous efforts to actually get things right through objective method and peer review.
And where should I place my fingers when science "reveals" that we are mutant copy-errors, made in the image & likeness of simian ancestors? The placing of fingers in the ears when science reveals something that raises doubt about your beliefs, is one way of dealing with this and you have clearly chosen this path. Good luck.
And where should I place my fingers when science "reveals" that we are mutant copy-errors, made in the image & likeness of simian ancestors?
This saw a recent spotlight in the internet atheist community, so I figured I'd share it here as it's related to the conflict between creationists and knowledge. I recommend creationists and rationalists both check it out.

AV1611VET,
The quote below is interesting.
God gifts us scientists, but what they do is out of their own freewill.
In other words ... in today's age ... they use their gifts against God and His children.
So, your God has gifted us with scientists, but they aren't allowed to think freely and openly to find the truth? Why would God gift us with something that supposedly worked against him? That doesn't sound like a gift to me.
In other words, when a scientist does legitimate work (widely accepted by the science world) it is bad because it goes against a certain faith you have? Where did you get your training in science, to be able interpret them as being wrong?
You won't mind if I ignore you, will you?
Thank you, sir.You won't mind if I ignore you, will you?
Go ahead, knock yourself out.
