Why do so many people confuse bishop Usher's chronology with the Bible? The Bible never states how old earth, the universe, or humanity are.

Again, a scientist has no reason ... as far as I know ... to be using the term "proof."

It's okay for them to say "magic," instead of "miracle;" but "prove," instead of "convince" is out of the question.

After all, they make the rules.

Well, if that is how you want to live your life, you are fully entitled. But I would guess, that everyday of your life, you have personally been impacted (in a very positive way in which you would not want to give up) the many advances in science you so disdain.

You also say the answer to Wendy Wright's stance with Richard Dawkins is "faith"? I would have no problem if you said; "Wendy Wright has faith in the existence of God", but using faith in terms of her denial of evolution and or the age of man is ignorance.

When one believes in a model's antithesis, then one should not have to even begin to understand the offending model.

Put another way, I believe in instant creation ... therefore evolution can take a hike.

If an abundance of objective evidence is available, you don't need a leap of faith to get at the truth, all you need to do is open your eyes.

I see what 'abundance of evidence' can do to something.

There can be so much 'abundance of evidence,' that scientists haggle over what's real and what's Memorex.

That's why, for example, we have six different models as to how we got our moon.

There is a difference between faith and blind faith and Wendy is exhibiting the "blind" type when she refuses to accept objective evidence that even many renowned Christian scholars have now had to recently accept as fact, or risk their credibility being undermined.

IMO, a society moves forward when blind faith is exceeded by the truth that science can provide.

A society today might "move forward" technologically, but morally, it leaves behind a trail of ... well ... immorality.

Yes, science has slowly debunked much of which is stated in the bible as fact...

When all that evidence flees at the Great White Throne Judgement, all God is going to have to do to those who demanded evidence from Christians, is say, "Show Me;" and the shoe is going to be on the other foot.

These scientists will say, "Um ... it was right here a minute ago!?"

... and that will likely continue to progress as science progresses.

Isaiah 65:20 There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.

Scientists work with evidence.creationists operate with a misinterpretation of the Bible, ex.Genesis, and swear that science proves the Bible.

If God blessed us with scientists, then I would guess we should take them seriously as science has blessed itself with rigorous efforts to actually get things right through objective method and peer review.

The placing of fingers in the ears when science reveals something that raises doubt about your beliefs, is one way of dealing with this and you have clearly chosen this path. Good luck.

Everything else being discussed about it, I wanted to point out that at the 2:46 mark, Wendy calls Richard 'close minded'. At the 6:07 mark, Wendy goes into a tirade about how she loathes ad hominems.
