• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

We give thanks

But, it's a dry heat so it's not so bad right? I hate it when people say that, lol. I've spent a great deal of time in AZ and 110 is still 110, dry or not! The humidity just makes you sweat more is all? I think the highest it ever got when I was there was 115 and I couldn't imagine how folks live in that all the time??? I was a regular visitor in Tombstone for years dating back to the late 70's. Boy has that town changed over the years!

Sorry Sampa for the OT, here's my take on that. If it's over 100 it's just plain HOT, the same as if it's below zero it's just freaking cold! I cannot tell the difference between zero degrees and 15 below or 32 below its just COLD! In the same way I cannot tell the difference between 100 and 115 it's just too darn HOT! :D

So I have another thing to add to my being thankful (to go back on topic)

I am thankful that my son can lend me money to pay my bills on time since my boss FORGOT to sign our checks before he left on vacation! He will be back on Monday, unfortunately my bills are due tomorrow and my tags are due by Sunday so......

No worries Michelle, your staying on coarse. There's no cut in dry way to the way we write about what we are thankful for. Some praises we need to share with others so they too can praise the Lord. :)

Sampa, my apologies as well for being OT. I guess I'm the one who started the OT subject and for that I apologize. It was not my intention to take away from this thread?

This gives me another thing to be thankful for... folks not getting upset with me when I make a boo-boo like this.

I am thankful this morning that audiobooks don't cost as much as paper books, so I can save money (although sometimes I like to have the 'real' book so that I can write in it!)
I am thankful to have technology that connects me with other people
I am thankful that God is loving, kind, trustworthy, sovereign, respects free will, devoted, able to do miraculous things and merciful
I am thankful to have food in my refrigerator
I am thankful for the opportunity to write down positive things to get my mind out of the "rut" of focusing on one negative thing, which is very tempting for me and hard to let go of sometimes.
