1. Genesis is not a history book. It is a book of moral and ethical teachings from G-d. To accept it as a mere history book means that the deeper lessons are lost.
2. Science does not deny the existence of G-d.
3. G-d was hardly incompetent. The story of the flood, however, points out the dangers of the misuse of free will.

I am sorry but you are not making a lick of sense. You said above "Logic works for me." That does not appear to be the case. If you could reason logically you would see that the "God" of Genesis was incompetent, he made a flawed creation and worse yet he blamed his creation instead of himself.

Why not face the obvious? Man is not perfect nor ever will be. There is no need for a "fall". Your Jesus story still works without a fall. But it does not work with one since it portrays your God in such a negative manner.
I'm saddened that you have decided to join the imperfect when perfection is here on earth now.

Who's going to stop me? You? I'd like to see you try it.

But I do believe it all. I believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God. But that does not require that I believe the Genesis stores to be literal history.
If one part is false, how do you determine if other parts are true?
Adam is mentioned in Luke, Romans, 1 Corinthians, 1 Timothy, and Jude.
Are all those books not "inspired"?

I asked you for an explanation. What you have provided is a childish avoidance. I am led to conclude that the requested explanation is beyond your capability.
You won't accept any explanation I present.

God made a perfect creation. Genesis 1:1
It became imperfect. Genesis 1:2
God restored the surface of the earth to support life. Genesis 1:3 forward.

You seem to know rather a lot about me. When did we spend time together?

Oh wait, you don't know anything about me. You're just making excuses, aren't you?

Allow me to repeat my request: please explain how Genesis being a myth makes it untrue.

You have that backwards. And you have not answered my question why you think that God is a liar. Not only in regards to the Adam and Eve story, but in regards to the Noah's Ark one as well. Most Christians do not believe that God lies so they do not read Genesis literally.

You openly stated that he planted false evidence. That is a form of lying.

Under the Genesis account, you have a creator deity that is apparently powerful enough to produce a "perfect" creation, but at the same time is neither intelligent enough forsee that it could become imperfect nor powerful enough to make it perfect again without wiping out all bar one family and the animals they could fit onto a wooden boat.

Hmmmm....

I don't hold to the Dake version of creation.
God created a perfect creation, (Gen 1:1), and this is how He did it, (Gen 1:2-31).

What makes you think that it was perfect? There is a huge flaw in that claim.

But you haven't. And I am not the one that is confused here. Since you do not understand how you are claiming that God is a liar you should be trying to learn instead of repeating what should be blasphemy if one claims to be a Christian.

An ancient earth makes more sense. It makes no sense to build antiquity into a new creation. It has no purpose.
