Giver..... I have a question for you.

If you so happened to be hiking on a trail in a park? And, you decide to step behind the bushes because mother nature was calling?

And, as you get ready as you stood there? You spy over the bushes someone kneeling down with a bow and arrow. The bow is pulled and he is aiming right at a group of children hiking down the trail?

If you had a piece of broken branch on the ground about the size of baseball bat? Would you use it to hit the hands of the one before he released his arrow? Knowing full well, that such things as bows and arrows are forbidden to be used in this park?
I would obey my Lord and my God. Why don’t you read his Word and let him know you would do the same?

You are cherry picking, and listening to a voice (who claims to be God) that only agrees with how the verses (when kept isolated from the rest of Scripture) can be made to appear (to the ignorant) that you are agreeing with the Word of God. Its nothing new. Almost every cult began that way.

That is why we need all of the Word of God so we can 'test the spirits.'

.
You don’t like the vices I have quoted so you throw mud on them in hopes people won’t read them or follow them. You never come up with any Words of God to show I’m wrong.

In general I agree but there are exceptions, one must sometimes defend others and doing so may require harm to some. This is not something that can be avoided in some cases. Either you allow harm to come to some when you could prevent it or you cause harm to others no matter which choice you make someone would be harmed wisdom tells us who should be protected in such cases.
There are no exception when it comes to obeying God’s Word.

(Matthew 10:37-39) “Anyone who prefers father or mother to me is not worthy of me. Anyone who prefers son or daughter to me is not worthy of me. Anyone who does not take his cross and follow in my footsteps is not worthy of me. Anyone who finds his life will lose it; anyone who loses his life for my sake will find it.”

If you disobey God to save yourself or anyone else are you saying you prefer you or them to God? If you kill anyone for any reason you are disobeying God. That means you prefer yourself or someone else instead of God.

Problem is... I do not know who your lord really is. For your lord will let you stand by and watch innocent children get murdered when it was well within your control to stop it.

I do not want to know your lord.

My Lord would call your lord a murderer.

Even worse, his lord supposedly commands it.

There are no exception when it comes to obeying God’s Word.
Adhereing stricly to the letter of the law brings death, but the spirit giveth life. There are exceptions to every rule so many that the world could not hold the books that would need to be written to hold them all in detail. We must use our brains and understand that these are general rules. While it is true that we are told to be peaceful and not to harm others we are also told to care for the weak and the needy and sometimes this places us in a situation where we must choose the right course of action. While harming someone is wrong allowing someone to harm others is also wrong and this is just one of millions of possible answers.

You need to understand that for centuries before Jesus people had the law and they tried to enforce it by the letter, then along comes Jesus and tries to explain what the law really means. It is the spirit of the law that is important. The letter will always be flawed and will always lead to error when strictly followed. We must know that the law was made for man not the other way around and in all cases it should lead to the best outcome.

In general it is not good to harm, nor to lie, nor steal but there are times when not doing so can be even worse. Such as not harming the man about to kill 10 people, or not telling a lie that will save innocent lives or taking the food to feed the starving when there is no other options.

Yes there are always exceptions and unless you see that you will never understand the spirit of any law especially the devine law. It is all about love for your fellow man.

Part of me tells me that you are just saying what you have here to see how others would react, or respond. I really do not believe you think what you do.

And what would make you think that it is to disobey God to save someone? I think your understanding is in serious error. You have elevated one part of the message above all others to the extent of changing the message and therefore you are basically saying that God commands us to stand by and allow the murder of others rather than take action to prevent it. It would be hard to be more worng than this.

Remember we are to love our fellow man, to do for them as we would have done for us and not do to them what we would not have done to us. Now just for example if I am a killer and go on a spree I would totally understand or even expect someone to try and stop me by any means nessacary as I would do as well. On the other hand if someone is coming to kill me and my family I cer
tianly hope my neighbors would at least try and stop that someone if at all possible as I would do for them.

The bottom line is there is no absolute here it is all a matter of the situtation must dictate and we must use our God given common sense along the way. It is not better to allow the killing of an innocent than to take the life of a killer and certianly not better to allow multipile victims when only a minor injury to the attacker could save them all.

Open your eyes.

If I bought a sword I would not no how to use it and would just die trying. Jesus has kept my family and me safe for over thirty years, and I hadn’t needed a sword or the ability to use one. There is a time coming when I will be killed, but no number or swords, guns, etc. will be able to stop the killing.

Which Jesus are you referring to? The one talking to you are the one in the Bible that commanded his disciples to buy a sword?

Mark 9:47 (New International Version)
"And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell."

Welcome to the "Church of One Eyes."

Pastor's last message will be posted on the bulletin out back. "Do you have three cheeks?" ... (What to do after you have turned your other cheek).

And, also include is last week's... "What if he punches you in the nose?" Can we offer him another nose? Is it alright to hit back then?

All questions will be answered in the rap session in the church cafe after service.

(1 Corinthians 1:19-21) “As scripture says: I shall destroy the wisdom of the wise and bring to nothing all the learning of the learned. Where are the philosophers now? Where are the scribes? Where are any of our thinkers today? Do you see now how God has shown up the foolishness of human wisdom? If it was God’s wisdom that human wisdom should not know God, it was because God wanted to save those who have faith through the foolishness of the message that we preach.”

(1 Corinthians 2:13-14) “Therefore we teach, not in the way in which philosophy is taught, but in the way that the Spirit teaches us: we teach spiritual things spiritually. An unspiritual person is one who does not accept anything of the Spirit of God he sees it all as nonsense; it is beyond his understanding because it can only be understood by means of the Spirit.”

Are you saying that Christianity is absurd? That there is no way for us to understand it? That Jesus can be substitued by the Flying Spagetti Monster?

I believe it was Paul who wrote those words. I believe he was telling us we couldn’t come to know God using our minds. May the Holy Spirit enlighten you.

Just one question. Has Christianity to make sense or not? I am not saying that God can be fully comprehended with rational concept. But still the morality has to make sense.

When I first started in God’s ministry, and trying to figure out what it was I was learning, Jesus spoke to me and said: quit trying to figure him out and just follow him.

We can never understand his ways with our minds, so just do what he says. Our life here is a testing ground. So lets just follow Jesus and hope we pass the test.

I'm sorry, but really, if some Muslim came and told you "Allah spoke to me and...".

That's Private Revelation, which is binding only to you.

Ah, the works righteous salvation heresy at it's finest.
The true sheep of Christ are those who hear the Word of the Lord and live it.

True sheep: (1 John 3:5-6) “Now you know that he appeared in order to abolish sin, and that in him there is no sin; anyone who lives in God does not sin, and anyone who sins has never seen him or known him.”

True sheep: (Matthew 5:39) “You have learnt how it was said: ‘Eye for eye and tooth for tooth.’ But I say this to you: offer the wicked man no resistance.”

True sheep: (Luke 14:33) “So in the same way, none of you can be my disciple unless he gives up all his possessions.”

True sheep: (Luke 6:30-35) “Give to everyone who asks you, and do not ask for your property back from the man who robs you. Treat others, as you would like them to treat you. If you love those who love you, what thanks can you expect? Even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what thanks can you expect? For even sinners do that much. And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive what thanks can you expect? Even sinners lend to sinners to get back the same amount. Instead, love your enemies and do good, and lend without any hope of return. You will have a great reward, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he himself is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked.

True sheep: (Matthew 6:19-21) “Do not store up treasures for yourselves on earth, where moths and woodworms destroy them and thieves can break in and steal. But store up treasures for yourselves in heaven, where neither moth nor woodworms destroy tem and thieves cannot break in and steal. For where your treasure is there will your heart be also.”

True sheep:(Matthew 7:21) “It is not those who say to me, ‘Lord, Lord’, who will enter the kingdom of Heaven but the person who does the will of My Father in Heaven. When the day comes many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, cast out demons in your name, work many miracles in your name?’ Then I shall tell them to their faces: I have never known you; away from me, you evil men!”

You are terribly abusive of Scripture , sir. That passage speaks of secular IQ. The intelligence of the unbeliever. You are dealing with the understanding of believers here. It goes to show how you do not understand what you read.

But, at least you are admitting one thing. You do not think like the wise amongst believers, and accept what the unlearned will accept. Which reminds me of the words of Peter when he was speaking of Paul's writings...

2 Peter 3:16 (New International Version)
"He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters.

His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction."

It happens all the time.
