Where in that did Peter say he was living in the last days? He talked about the last days.

16 No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17 “‘In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.

In the last days scoffers will come. Interesting that the two events described in the passage- Creation and Noah's flood. Many in the church also scoff at these.

3 Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4 They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” 5 But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. 6 By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. 7 By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly. (2 Peter 3)

Last of the Last Days? Say no more.......
“And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.” Daniel 12:1–4 (KJV 1900)

Hi everyone! I hope everyone is having a good day so far! :)

In Matthew, Jesus states that there will be many coming and saying they are Jesus in the last days.

Then, as he talks about the last days, he seems to tell them what's going to happen in the order its going to happen.

If we look and see there's not a lot of people saying they are Jesus and the fact that Jesus tells us the order all these things will happen, that should let you know that we are NOT in the last days yet.

Not so, you are about as wrong as you can possibly be.

A) False Messiahs have been a significant phenomena since the dawn of Christianity. Not to mention some cult leaders do claim to represent Christ in some capacity like receiving a revelation from him, being a reincarnation of him, etc. While other people like Bar Kokba claimed to be the messiah for Israel.

Cultic figures are actually more common now with Joseph Smith, Jim Jones, David Koresh, all kinds of new age cults, including Matreiya. Matreiya very much fits the verse of "believe not".

Is the Maitreya the Second Coming of Christ? | Watchman Fellowship, Inc.

B) Likewise many false prophets also claim to speak concerning Christ. Like Mohamad, Mani, many new age, etc.

c) You forget the term Christ just means "anointed". This term is very common in the Charismatic movement and many dubious people have used it to claim that they are above reproach aka "don't touch God's anointed".

D) There are many other signs of the Times besides this. 1) That knowledge would great increase (It has with the internet and science etc.), 2)That world travel would happen (It has), that wars, earth quakes, famines etc. would increase (they have).

We Are Not in the Last Days

The first video by The Fuel Project shows the rate by century, or at least the most prominent examples. Jerusalem Syndrome exists and is expected to keep happening. The Bible itself predicts this will happen, so it is only common sense for Christians studying end times theology.

There is also the concept of Survivorship Bias.[1][2][3] Basically, we only see the successful examples, and do not even see the ones that fail making it into the news. For every big name out there, there are thousands more who are nowhere near as successful.
  1. 7 Survivorship Bias Examples You See in the Real World
  2. How ‘survivorship bias’ can cause you to make mistakes
  3. Survivorship Bias — Correlation Does Not Equal Causation

BUT are they working miracles and signs? Are many deceived by them?

Are the false Christs working miracles? Is the world, not a few, but a good number fooled by them?

Although other signs are present that doesn't mean we're near the end. Wars and famine have been present even before Jesus time.

Bethel Church is one example to avoid at all costs!

Pentecostalism is something worth researching. Otherwise, I have nothing left to offer.

Take care, stay safe, and God bless!

So I really appreciate your post, because too many Christians live in an erroneous state of apocalyptic expectation, which can lead to faith destroying tragedies such as the Millerite Great Disappointment in the 19th century. However, it is not clear at all when God will come; as our Lord says, the time is known only to the Father. There are by the way actually a huge number of cult leaders in recent years who have explicitly claimed to be or implied that they were Jesus. Among them include the founder of the Moonies, and the leader of the Heaven’s Gate suicide cult, to name just two high profile examples. I think David Armstrong of the WWCOG once made such a claim. So that one thing has happened.

But I do really greatly appreciate the spirit of what you were trying to do with your post. God bless you.

We've been living in the Last Days since Christ. And there have been false messiahs throughout history.

List of people claimed to be Jesus

Some notable examples:

Theudas (c. 46 AD)
Simon bar Kochba ( c. 135 AD)
Moses of Crete (5th century)
Sabbatai Zevi (died 1676 AD)
Ann Lee (died 1784)
Jacob Joseph Frank (died 1791 AD)
Baha'u'llah (died 1892 AD)
Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (died 1908 AD)
David Koresh (died 1993 AD)
Menachem Mendel Schneerson (died 1994 AD)

My opinion, my opinion only: the last days begin at the death burial and resurrection of Christ. One day to the Lord is as a thousand years and A Thousand Years is as one day.
I've read and heard people say, they've been saying been this for thousands of years and nothing has changed or I don't see any signs.
1) Up until the invention of the computer the microchip, the final hours could not be fulfilled because the mark of the beast could not be received. Scripture says the mark will be in the hand or in the forehead - Revelation 13:16-17.
2) up until a few hundred years ago there was no electricity, no running water, no toilets, no television, no telephones, no Rockets, no airplanes, no automobiles, etc. But look at where technology has brought mankind. And people are constantly on the go. People were at home or settled to their areas, did they travel of course but nothing like today, Going country to Country in a matter of hours, continually. Daniel 12:4 shut up the book, until the last days, people will be moving to and fro and knowledge shall increase.
3) Now in seven or eight countries a man can marry a man and a woman can marry a woman - it's up to the individuals preference -which didn't exist even 50 years ago. Genesis 19:5 & Luke 17:28-30 as it was in the days of Lot so shall it be, when the Son of Man is revealed.
4) The television & the cellphone remarkable inventions. Until their intentions what are the odds the whole earth could see Christ when he came back. Revelations 1:7 the whole earth will see him coming from the clouds.
5) Sounds like someone is going to release a nuclear weapon. 100 years ago this couldn't happen! Flesh being consumed, (melting), from eye sockets in their holes, tongues in their mouths before the bones can hit the ground Zechariah 14:12.
6) And if people don't see a drastic increase in family violence _ Matthew 10:35 - more frequent and destructive weather patterns, plagues every few years, lack of love and compassion, crime continuously growing, millions go hungry daily etc... Matthew 24th chapter.
7) Has knowledge been spread to all nations of the Gospel? It is said that only about a hundred isolated tribes have not been contacted but my research shows they have been contacted, they just don't want to have anything to do with the outside world. So basically yes the whole world has heard the gospel or offered a chance. Matthew 24:14 Mark 13 - the gospel must be spread to All Nations kindred and tongues then the end will come. Didn't say when, but that is one definite clue concerning how close.
8) Has Israel become a nation again. Theologians say yes, 1948 / Six-Day War of 1967 sealed it. Luke 21:24 Israel will be trodden down of the Gentiles until the time of the Gentiles be fulfilled Luke 21:29-33 parable of the fig tree. 9) Many will come in my name - how many people in the last two thousand years has come in the Name of Christ or saying that they were him. Only the documented ones are known - what about the undocumented ones. Many have come, more will come - teaching their own theologies and saying that it is of Christ.

Ever read 2 Timothy 3:1-9? It seems like a fulfillment of today for me. Men will have a form of godliness but they deny the power thereof. Everyone today is justifying some level of sin. Today, most churches I have encountered believe in a sin and still be saved type belief. They think they can serve two masters (i.e. God and also sin). Sure, some will say we are to hate sin and fight against it, etc.; But then they also turn around that you are saved while you abide in sin.

I got Shiver by the number 2030... I dont know but either 2030 or 2050 perhaps.
(I believe ny Shiver is The Holy Spirit telling me there is truth in it.)

This technological advance, this new god, is quickly taking over peoples lives. I cannot see this go on for too long. Just think how much Society changed in the past 20 years. More than 100 years past. It is increasing exponential, so each year now will bring more change. Just look at the past 2 years.

That was written to Timothy for his day. Context.
