  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Are you afraid of or do you at least find creepy:

Praying mantises ?

Nah. They look like aliens and are actually kind of cool.

Crickets?

They're creepy because I had one try to jump up my shorts once and totally freaked me out.

Grasshoppers?

Same as crickets except they like to fly into your face.

Ladybugs?

Never! I love Ladybugs. I think I read somewhere that the males don't have spots and the females do. Don't know if that's true or not but anyhow they're cute and I like them.

Fireflies?

I've never seen a firefly.:( They aren't out here in California and I haven't stayed in a place where they have them long enough to see them.

Dragonflies?

The little ones are cute. When I go up to the mountains every year to hike/fish/swim/whatever, they like to land on my fishing pole and look at me while I'm fishing. The big ones are kinda freaky and I tend to avoid them. lol.

Honey bees?

Honey bees are ok. I don't mind them too much because they're too busy finding pollen to bother with me. I just let them do their thing and avoid making them angry. However, yellow jackets, bumblebees, hornets, and wasps are the devil's spawn!!! Wherever I am they fly at me! They try to sting me! And they've succeeded more than once! If there's one of those four around me then I'm usually walking/running quickly away and inside the nearest building. I swear it's a conspiracy and they're all out to sting and bite me to death!

Horse flies?

Gross. They're beady red eyes are really creepy. Plus they like to fly right by your ear and BUZZZZZ and make you jump ten feet because you weren't expecting it. But I'll deal with it on one condition.........that the reason I'm around them is because I'm riding a horse. I love horses and don't get to ride them much. :( So yeah, horse flies are all right as long as I'm riding a horse. LOL.

Earthworms?

I'm indifferent to earthworms. They're not cute. And they're not creepy. They just.......are. lol. If I run into one while I'm planting something or whatever, then I'll just pick it up and plop him into a hole so he can live happily ever after with his dirt.

Potato bugs?

:help: Please keep them away from me. I can't even look at one on the internet or anything, they scare the tar out of me!

Granddaddy long leg spiders?

Daddy long leg spiders are ok......as long as they're outside. The second they cross the border into my house.....they give up their right to live. Absolutely NO spiders in my house at all! That's my rule.

Wolf spiders?

Uhhhhhhhh........no. See above post about daddy long legs. NO SPIDERS! I hate them. They freak me out. I won't even walk into a room with one in it. My grandmother adores them and won't kill them if they're in her house, so her house has a lot of big, brown, gross spiders. I'll be watching TV at her house and one will drop down in front of my face or try to crawl across my foot. I'm constantly on the watch for anything moving while at my grandma's house. LOL. If I see one......I walk quickly to the nearest person to kill it for me. But if they're outside then oh well. As long as they stay outside.

House mice?

They don't scare me really. In fact I really like domestic mice. And I have a domestic rat at home. But wild mice and rats aren't cool. Just cuz they're wild and you don't know what to expect from them. They could be really sweet or they could have rabies. So I tend to avoid the wild ones. But the domestic ones are awesome! Sooooooooo cute! I love my rat. She loves to sit on my shoulder and walk around with me. Inside, outside, whatever. She's sweet.

Gardner snakes?

I don't like them because they look similar to rattlesnakes and we get a lot of rattlesnakes out here. So I avoid them simply because I don't know if they're rattlers or not. But if I KNOW that it's a gardner snake then I don't have a problem. Snakes are actually pretty cool. I would never own one because I can't see myself feeding a cute little mouse to it, but I'll hold one and stuff. They don't freak me out at all.

Centipedes?

Just one word.........EEW. I just think they're gross. They don't necessarily freak me out but they're awfully gross. LOL.

Wow, sorry this was so long.

I don't see how people don't find praying mantises to be creepy.... I've held a pole up to a large praying mantis before -- when it attacked the pole it did so viciously and I felt its attack all the way up the pole. I have an issue with all stick-like insects. :doh:I also was curious why you found cute little potato bugs to be creepy... Apparently I was thinking of a "pill bug" (the bugs that roll into balls when you touch them).... I guess true potato bugs look like mutated crickets that have joined the forces of evil.

Yes, potato bugs are evil. Very evil. Little pill bugs are cute! We call them "roly-poly bugs" around here. No they're cute and they tickle if you let them crawl on you cuz they have so many legs. Did you know that they actually breathe through gills? That's why you usually find them in damp earth.

Do you like being around young kids?

Yeah I do! Kids are fun. I used to babysit a lot when I was younger. The thing I don't like though is when the kid's mom is watching me like a hawk. I'm always nervous when the mom is watching me. LOL. I guess it's because I feel like they're watching and waiting for me to make a mistake. But yeah I like being around young kids. It's cute to watch them try to sound out words and discover new things. And babies really like me. When my second cousin was born, I went over to my cousin's house to help care for him and whenever he cried they'd hand him off to me and I'd walk him around and rock him and he'd fall asleep on my shoulder. heh.

What is your greatest weakness? Greatest strength?

Whew. Nothing like the tough questions eh? Let's see. Weakness? I'd probably have to say my shyness. I hate doing things like answering the phones at work. I guess it's the fear of the unknown, you know? Will I be able to answer their question? Am I gonna sound like an idiot? Am I gonna hang up on them by accident when I try to transfer them? LOL. It may not seem like I'm shy on here but on the internet it's different. Eh, maybe I worry too much. :p

Strength I'd have to say would be my ability to listen. I'm a quiet person and for some reason people come to me with their problems or concerns and I just listen and give what encouragement or advice that I can. Sometimes people just need someone to talk to and it seems like people come to me a lot so I guess I listen well. LOL. Anyhoo, yeah that's probably it. I hope I answered that question ok.

When you find an insect that creeps you out, do you normally kill it if it's in your house? On your sidewalk or porch or otherwise right outside your house? If it's a ways away from your house

If the creepy thing is outside I'll leave it alone unless it tries to crawl on me. lol. But if it's inside, it dies. I'm not gonna take the time to get close to it and catch it and let it go free. lol. If someone else wants to catch it and let it go outside then that's cool, but I'm not getting near the thing. hahaha.

Might you marry a guy who had no problem going to a buddy's bachelor party even if strippers were going to be there?

That's a tough one. To me, for a stripper to be nude is pornography (I know it's not in the usual sense of the word, but if you think about it....if a picture or a video of a woman nude is porn, then watching a nude girl dance in front of you is definitely porn.), and that is something I will not tolerate. And even if the stripper isn't nude and just scantilly clothed, it's still dangerously close to porn. That's just my opinion, but I would be very uncomfortable getting involved with a guy who is ok with watching strippers. So no, I probably wouldn't marry someone who was OK with watching strippers, whatever the occasion. If he wanted to go to the bachelor party and then leave before the stripper got there then that's cool with me. But I wouldn't want him to leave just because I wanted him to. I would want him to leave because he, personally, doesn't want to watch it. ;)

Hehe, no it's not. When I'm playing Counter-Strike, my name is [KTA]Dead People. I know it's kind of a strange name, but when I started playing CS:S two years ago I wanted a name that was a play on words. I came up with Dead People after thinking of the movie Sixth Sense where the kid says "I see dead people." lol. So yeah, I became Dead People so people could say that they "saw dead people". After I started playing regularly on this one server because it didn't allow swearing or inappropriate pictures or racist language, everyone got to know me as Dead People and if I changed my name then no one would know who I was. So Dead People kinda stuck. LOL. [KTA] is my clan that I belong to, so I put that in front of my name to signify that I belong to that clan. So yep, that's my name in the gaming world. Most people just call me "DP" for short. hehe. ;)

Yep. It stands for Kill Them All. :p LOL I know, it's a little cutthroat, but......it's a sort of battle cry in a terrorist vs. counter-terrorist game. Kind of a "take no prisoners" thing. hehe. Though we may sound tough because of the clan name, we're actually a really friendly clan full of players with all different levels of skill. ;)

Kill them All :) I was in a teamfortress clan called Special Forces for quite a few years. Rivals of ours formed a clan called "Special Ed Forces." I thought that was pretty funny.

Do you have a favorite clan name?

Is there a CS clan you really respect (other than yours :p)?

Is there a CS player you really respect (outside of your clan ;))?

Do you enjoy watching CS demos/videos of other players?

Haha, yeah that's funny!

Do you have a favorite clan name?

I've never really been in another clan, so I guess I don't have a favorite unless you wanna say KTA is my favorite! lol.

Is there a CS clan you really respect (other than yours )?

Yes, it's The Armory Clan. They've moved over to the Battlefield games, but a few of them still play CS:S. They were the clan that actually inspired KTA. They were always respecful, they were friendly, they were always fair, they were great players, and their rules for their server were clean. Meaning no swearing, no inappropriate pictures, no racist talk, etc. KTA started on that server. And when KTA got big enough, we got our own server and modeled it after The Armory. So yeah, much respect for The Armory.

Is there a CS player you really respect (outside of your clan )?

There are a lot of people that come play on our server that I'm friends with that aren't in KTA. So, actually there are a lot of people that I respect outside of KTA. lol. We get great people on our server. :D But not one in particular, no. heh

Do you enjoy watching CS demos/videos of other players?

Yeah it's always fun to watch the pros and go "Wow, how the heck did they do THAT?" lol. And try to model your playing after some of them so that you can get better at the game. But I haven't watched too many. In fact the last demo I watched wasn't of a pro player. It was a demo someone took while on our server of another player and it was sent to me to look over to see if the guy was hacking. hehe. So yeah, those are the demos I watch the most. Because I'm an admin and have the power to ban people from the server, then people come to me when they think other players are hacking. lol. :p

What have you been up to lately?

Lately, I've been working and in my free time hanging out with my clan and writing my novel. And of course taking time to ride my bike and stuff. Nothing too exciting. LOL. But having fun just the same. ;)

How many cds do you have all together?

Wow that's a good question. lol. I'd have to say at least 50. The artists that I like, usually I'll get their greatest hits CD's so that I can have my favorite songs all on one CD. hehe. I have to drive a half hour to work and then about an hour back (because of traffic) and I take like 2 or 3 CD's with me every day to listen to. lol. I'm probably gonna go out and get some more soon because I'm in the need for new music. hehe

Wow, I didn't see these. lol. I guess I haven't checked this thread in a bit. :p

One thing you would like to change about your life this year?

My job. lol. I would like to do something different because I'm not the type of girl who likes to sit around in an office all day. heh.

Gam3rG1rl4Chr1st, I deleted Counterstrike because it was taking up too much of my time. I also am really not a big fan of games that have aim depend on movement -- I prefer to be flying all over the place. :) I wish a game like that would come out and become popular....

Did you play any April Fool's jokes?

Favorite candy?

I understand, Simm. No worries! As for the questions......No, I didn't get a chance to play any April fool's jokes. :( It kind of sneaked up on me this year and before I knew it the day was practically over. lol

My favorite candy would probably have to be.......Sugar Babies. Yum! I always get a big box of those whenever I go to the movies. haha

Any Easter weekend plans for you?

Yep! My grandpa's 93rd birthday is that same weekend so we're gonna go over to my grandparents' house and celebrate both on the same day. lol. Should be fun.;)
