Yes but its the same God and most people believe God doesn't change. Of course the main argument here is that what reason do we have to believe that we should not go to war as christians? Or as a christian nation. I'm not aware of any change from ot to now that makes God unallowing for his people to go to war.
In california, there may be gardens taken care of by prisoners (non-violent, violent, or a mix).
The prisoners may be still serving their sentences as determined in a court of law, or in a plea bargain that may involve unspecified and unpublished, unreported bribes.(to officials at all levels, potentially).
Meanwhile, in Pennsylvania, there are several generations of farmering communities sustained and continuing to grow their own food, and more than enough for their local residents. Their children are in the garden whenever their parent(s) is/are, from birth on. They learn every plant, type of soil, type of good beneficial insects and the unhelpful ones too, and what to do about it, naturally, by the time they're ten years old. Needless to say, they are very very healthy also, and strong, honest, able, knowledgeable family members honoring YHWH the CREATOR, and obeying their parents without hesitation.
The same CREATOR may watch over and guide the steps of
the first mentioned gardeners above - the prisoners, the criminals;
and
the children, infants through teen years.
One and the Same Creator.
Perfect in justice, and in judgment, and
perfect in mercy and in love ---
perfect in every way.
But the prisoners/ criminals
are treated very very
different from the
way the
little children , up thru teens,
are treated.
Same ONE GOD. Same food grown. Same methods and tools used for tilling,discing, plowing, seeding, weeding, and watering....
If the prisoners walk outside the garden area they are assigned to, they might get themself shot.
Not so the children.
The children are free to go over the hill to the pond, down the valley to the creek, down the road to the post office or grocery store.
Same GOD. Different ways the care-takers of the gardens/soil/plants are treated.
Yes, very different ways they are treated.
I do not know if there is
any direct analogy of the example of these very different 'caretakers' ,
to the ancient Hebrews
and the goyim (heathen pagan gentiles).
But there is the simple, obvious, example
of how
ONE PERFECT UNCHANGING CREATOR
can and does
train HIS people as HE pleases and very differently
from one era to another, or from one group to another even on the same day;
so different towards different 'tenants' even though
to produce the exact same produce/ fruit/ food.
HIS KINGDOM is at hand.
Salvation is HIS goal, HIS WAY.
Not mans way.
YHWH trained the children of Abraham, the nation of Israel, different than any other nation. (no other nation was given TORAH, a way to belong to YHWH and please HIM.)
YHWH sent Y'SHUA (YHWH'S Salvation) to train disciples.
Y'SHUA did not train the disciples the way YHWH trained Israel.
Y'SHUA laid down HIS LIFE, supreme, divine, almighty, holy life,
instead of calling on 10,000 angels HE could have called in less time than it takes to type "." one dot.
When one disciple , thinking the way of men, tried to change Y'SHUA'S course,
Y'SHUA rebuked him.
When one disciple tried to 'defend' Y'shua,
Y'SHUA stopped him.
When the Romans were slaughtering the disciples,
YHWH permitted it.
When the chinese executed a million Christians in the Boxer rebellion,
YHWH permitted it.
When ..... .... ... when it is time,
Y'SHUA will return instantly for those waiting for HIM.
