Everyone is entitled to their opinion and it doesn't have to be an educated one. Interpretation makes it impossible to make it factual as each person might have a different interpretation of the same scripture. And some can be lost in the translation. Some may be more intelligent then others so be kind and teach patiently . I haven't gone to bed yet so kindly have a good attitude and keep it friendly because I can't babysit for a few hours. You all keep each other on the straight and narrow.

The above in James is the same as the parable of the sower, its why Jesus cursed the unfruitful Fig Tree. Faith without words is a dead faith just like an unfruitful tree its as good as dead. A living faith produces Good works as per Ephesians 2:10.

there is no need for implications or guessing games here, the scripture clearly says a "believer", and the believer fell away. Doesn't matter if he was a weak believer...point made.
It's my opinion & it's not baseless. Matthew says they have no root. Mark says they have no depth of earth. If they don't run deep, the implication is they run shallow - ie a superficial experience. You can see the same in cultural Christians which consider themselves Christians because they grew up in a Christian family, in a Christian country, not because they have any real experience with the Lord himself.
You can believe the message, even desire it, without receiving Christ, who made this distinction himself :
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. John 5:39-40
