It's my opinion & it's not baseless. Matthew says they have no root. Mark says they have no depth of earth. If they don't run deep, the implication is they run shallow - ie a superficial experience. You can see the same in cultural Christians which consider themselves Christians because they grew up in a Christian family, in a Christian country, not because they have any real experience with the Lord himself.

You can believe the message, even desire it, without receiving Christ, who made this distinction himself :

Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. John 5:39-40

To be clear, and once again, none of that matters. The point we are trying to make here is can one lose salvation. They were a believer, and they fell away, for whatever reason. Meaning simply, they lost their salvation. If you choose not to see that, that is up to you.

No idea what all that is for. I asked you early on if you did not intend to answer the very simple question to just say so, so i don't waste the time trying to get an answer out of you.

Wish you'd a just had the decency to do that.
I just answered it so if it was a different question then ask it again otherwise quit pestering me.

No one can lose salvation/eternal life, that is NOWHERE said in the bible. Its made up by people who think they are saved by their performance. Works are a by product of salvation not a means to salvation. No fruit nor root.

You can keep your unbiblical temporal/conditional life.

I will believe in the biblical life called ETERNAL/EVERLASTING/ NEVER ENDING LIFE.

hope this helps !!!

I’m a sheep. I always do.
Amen for the sheep who have their faith in the Good Shepherd. Those who are not His sheep deny this truth below. His sheep hear His voice and He gives them Eternal Life and no one can take one of them out of His secure hands.

John 10:26-30
but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. 27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.”

I just answered it so if it was a different question then ask it again otherwise quit pestering me.

And would suggest you stop pestering my by pretending you will answer a question you have consistently evaded doing so.

I've already covered that question, can we move to the one you were asking now.

l only need to know that you are certian who "they" are, that way I can know you have read the scripture you posted in context.

I've posted several scriptures - which one? The parable was spoken to a Jewish audience & the prophesy of Esaias re Israel was even quoted in Matthew 13:14 as to why it was spoken in parables. But the parable itself is addressed to everyone - "who hath ears to hear, let him hear" (v9). So "they" would include potentially anyone in which the word doesn't take root.

Yes. My question is whether or not the individual was born again. From my own experience, I know that it is possible to have a false "conversion". I agreed mentally but my heart was unchanged (at a Billy Graham meeting). It was 5 years later that I was born again.
You cannot become a person of no faith, if you have never had faith.
For the OSAS people to say "they never believed" is a nonsense. It is like this, you cannot lose your driving license I you never had one.

Here in Hebrews 6 it says they recieved the Holy Ghost, so they had a real experience with the Lord.
Can anyone explain this? I`m just looking for opinions, I`m just asking because I`m a Berean.

Hebrews 6

4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

1 John 2:19 ? Those that "went out from us" were probably the "antichrists" of the preceding verse, who John defined as anyone who denies the Father and the Son, including those that deny Jesus is the Christ. But these weren't manifest as such in the beginning and appeared to be believers. We know this because John said it was their leaving that manifest them. If they had had the unction of the Holy Spirit (v20) they would have known the truth and not left. Which was my whole point. These were never saved. And John isn't committing the No True Scotsman fallacy, he's basically saying when you're born again - born of the Spirit - you don't leave though you may backslide for a time.

No you didn't as you made it up since scripture NEVER ones says a saved person becomes lost and one who is born again becomes unborn or Eternal Life becomes temporal or conditional life. You read your FALSE DOCTRINE of losing salvation into the bible n=making Gods promises a lie.

hope this helps !!!

Posts have piled up so quickly they are hard to track. I can`t sort this mess out and I went through a lot of the posts. This is pretty normal for OSAS conversations so no point in getting irritated about it.

Yes because if they" were" of us they would of remained with us. The proof is they left showing they were NEVER of them in the first place.

John writes in black and white with no room for gray. His perspective is clear and no room for anything in-between. Here are some of his contrasts:

Good/evil is seen in His writings by the following imagery of opposite’s.

Light/darkness. In addition to light/darkness, truth/lies, love/hate, life/death, righteousness/sin, children of light/children of darkness, children of God/children of the devil, sons of God, sons of the evil one, God/satan, Christ/anti-christ, obey/disobey, in the light/in the darkness, heaven/hell, fear/love, confess/deny, confess sin/deny sin, practice righteousness/practice sin, continue in sin/continue in righteousness, listen to us/not listen to us, spirit of truth/spirit of falsehood, love God/hate God, love sin/hate sin, love the truth/hate the truth etc………..

hope this helps !!!

It doesnt have to say that. It says the were a believer, then they fell away.

There are none so blind as those who cannot read the simple statement by Christ, and understand it.

Hebrews 6:4 they recieved Holy Spirit and became lost. We both know Holy Spirit seals us. Any thoughts?

I'm fine with it, as I've seen enough of this to already knew how it would end.
