Never plan to.
Thank you. I genuinely appreciate your honesty, especially as your words cast your competence and intellect in such a poor light. Good fortune in the future. I shan't trouble you further.

Do the folks who reject evolution actually want to learn a dang thing about it from an honest & reputable source like Duke? I think they're proud to tell anybody with a clue about it to just take a hike, on account of how they like to hold onto their ignorance & pretend like it's biblical. It's not, of course, but it keeps them happy I suppose.

When a certain personal faith belief is needed to meet psychological needs, some folks will defend that belief at all costs. This usually means demonizing, any information that would contradict their belief.

Was Pluto being our ninth planet considered reality at one time?

Yes the fact it was considered a planet at one point in our history is a reality.

“Pluto was discovered by Clyde Tombaugh in 1930 and was originally considered to be the ninth planet from the Sun. After 1992, its status as a planet was questioned following the discovery of several objects of similar size in the Kuiper belt. In 2005, Eris, a dwarf planet in the scattered disc which is 27% more massive than Pluto, was discovered. This led the International Astronomical Union (IAU) to define the term "planet" formally in 2006, during their 26th General Assembly. That definition excluded Pluto and reclassified it as a dwarf planet.”

This kind comes to under the discussion what separates science and religions. Science can adjust, religion less so.

Are you telling me science has adjusted to Pluto's demotion?

If so, why are California, New Mexico, and Illinois fighting it? not to mention other scientists fight it as well?

In addition, it was demoted by a rigged vote:

The International Astronomical Union (IAU; French: Union astronomique internationale, UAI) is an international association of professional astronomers, at the PhD level and beyond, active in professional research and education in astronomy.[2] Among other activities, it acts as the internationally recognized authority for assigning designations to celestial bodies (stars, planets, asteroids, etc.) and any surface features on them.[3]

Internationally recognized authority. So it is up to this association how they want to classify it. If there is some evidence why it would better fit to be a planet again I am sure some future board will vote it back to that status.

Some scientists argue against evolution, round earth , climate change and whatever which in itself doesn’t say anything about the science, but rather more about the scientist themselves.

Like Kurt Wise, PhD from Harvard

Kurt Wise - Wikipedia

“Although there are scientific reasons for accepting a young earth, I am a young age creationist because that is my understanding of the Scripture. As I shared with my professors years ago when I was in college, if all the evidence in the universe turns against creationism, I would be the first to admit it, but I would still be a creationist because that is what the Word of God seems to indicate.[8]

It takes all kinds.

Internationally recognized authority.
That doesn't give them license to rig a vote.

If they have all that power, why vote in the first place?

Why not admit they had been wrong all these 76 years and say they're fixing their error?

Why they voted is probably included in their charter on how things are done.

By changing the status of Pluto they acted according to new evidence.

Why they should publish some sort of an apology - for what their previous board members who acted with the best knowledge they had , did - is quite beyond me.

By definition just changing the status indicates that they believe the previous decision is no longer correct one.

Maybe they were being tactful and diplomatic ? Not everyone acts like the current POTUS.

I'll be honest with you, Favor, when I see this rigged vote defended like this, it makes me think all disciplines ... not just astronomy ... utilized rigged voting if they have to.

And it's not hard to get me to think that, since I think most scientists are liars, crooks, murderers, and/or cheats, driven by the love of money, and under the influence of Satan's nine muses in the first place.

Funny how you take advantage of all these inventions without any moral qualms even if they are seed of Satan you perhaps prefer using electricity, mechanical transportation, medicines, GPS and stuff like that to campfire, donkey ride and maybe some herbal remedies when you get bacterial infection?

But I think your bit hypocritical vitriol for science is getting us distracted here....

How would you have resolved the case in light of the evidence of new planetary bodies that fit the specs for being called a planet on Kuiper belt ?

God created science for our benefit. I hope you don't mind if I use them too?

I don't know. Science ain't my bag. But certainly not by rigging a vote.

Nor do I defend its shenanigans, either.

But as someone who claims "science ain't their bag", you're probably not in the best position to comment on science in the first place.
