  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

To put into perspective what is going on, here is one group that has influence over millions of minorities in america. You might not ever even heard of them. Because they get zero coverage in liberal media. But they are petitioning congress, working with business leaders, governors and grassroots minority communities.

Now they are calling for the censure of Maxine Waters. These same pastors and community leaders are then speaking directly to their parishes and communities. All the while the liberal media says nothing is going on. Even without coverage, and even tho it is denied to be going on, the word of mouth still spreads. And they are directly speaking against the liberal agenda. Not necessarily pro-Trump, but definitely anti-establishment, and pro change in how legislation impacts black communities.

Looks right wing.

Also worth pointing out they offered zero solutions to the problems they identified.

That's not my point. A grass roots movement is only effectual for a certain duration of time before it peters out and becomes lost to time. Midterms are Tuesday, November 6, 2018. That is mere months. To say nothing is going on and this has no effect is just plain ridiculous.

Alos it is good to note, if the momentum carries and we win a landslide majority, we will be able to come up with many solutions to the problems they identified without the constant anti-Trump grandstanding and obstruction.

If "we" don't have any solutions now...what makes you think they're going to magically appear out if thin air if you pack congress full of the idiots who have no solutions now??? This is borderline delusional thinking...

It would be more accurate to say that the president has failed to deliver on even his most modest promises...and its mainly his fault. I mean, how is it even possible that he can't fill a cabinet now??? The only person stopping that from happening is him...

I don't see it that way. There are plenty of solutions. Just most of them are not 'liberal approved'. To be fair, we need to go RINO hunting also. As far as perception, even how Trump is perceived; I named myself LostMarbels knowing the backlash I would encounter for my stance, and how many would claim I am crazy. I think the point you are missing is I do not need social acceptance to push for, or even vote for a certain thing/legislation to be enacted. I just need the numbers. Im thinking about what I believe to best for the future of my family, and my country. So just because you do not veiw something as such, or veiw another thing differently dose not mean I agree, and it defiantly will not deter me from the continued pursuit of that goal.

Because I see solutions. They are just not popular with the current establishment.

By all means, pursue your agenda. When it fails though...don't expect me to foot the bill. Judeo-christian values haven't done anything for anyone...and you'd have to be almost completely ignorant of history to think they have.

The overall trend is just the opposite...the further we move from religious beliefs guiding our society the better it's been for everyone.

Ahhh... ok. I do think what you are stating is a big part of this. What conservatives are proposing is threatening to anyone who does not hold to conservative ideals. Including Conservative Christianity, and the belief we need to return to God as a nation. Everything now a part of our society that does not line up with the bible is flipping out because they are now 'threatened'. As an American I say go live your life as you have the freedoms and rights to do. And I will do the same. But I am not going to give you my 'have' just because you 'want'. Go get your own thing. Your own universities organisations and establishments. You don't get to infiltrate my already established interests.

As far as being a taxpayer, you will foot the bill for whatever legislation gets passed regardless how you feel about it. And even if it fails. Wonderful heart felt sentiment but it aint gonna happen.

Oh, I understand that fully. I'm just saying...when you find out that teaching girls about jesus doesn't stop teen pregnancy...don't be surprised when we yank all funding for it like conservatives did with foodstamps.

Why do we need funding? It is the parents duty to raise their own children as they see fit. Not ours to teach children about sex in school. Your not going to believe this... never had sex-ed, but somehow I figured it out. Amazing huh?

Many of the WalkAway minorities I know call black people slaves on a plantation. It seems like such an odd jape to use against people you're trying to convince to follow you. But I've witnessed many black Christians walking away from the Democratic Party now as they feel that abortion is genocide against black people. It's not the police terrorizing them, segregation, racial profiling or job discrimination that is hurting the community, but the racial targeting via abortion, a scheme to have few black people in the US. One thing they argue is that the left tries to get a lock on the minority vote by eliminating as many minority babies as they can via abortion. So many walk away people have gone from pro-choice to pro-life because they want to increase the number of minority voters out there. Once black people recognize that being pro-life means more black voters, many more of them will begin to walk away from the Democratic Party. They argue, this whole time, the Democratic Party has been trying to limit their population, so there can be far fewer black voters.

The stories I know personally and I'm reading and hearing on #WalkAway are almost always ones of surprised welcome too from the "other side". Are there racists, bigots and homophobes on the Right? Absolutely, you bet. But the Left has so blinded folks into believing we're all a bunch of mask-wearing KKK members (imagine me rolling my eyes over here) that people are almost stunned to discover that's a lie. It's just a lie.

I can't embrace the anti-scientific, anti-intellectual values of the Republican party. And I'm betting that once people get away from the "waah my feels r hurt" and moral puritanism, they will realize that too.

But the Right is a LOT more accepting than ex-liberals thought. What we more commonly hear is a LOT of nasty blowback from their former friends. Really nasty blowback too.

Accepting? Most Republicans I actually know are generally prejudiced and bigoted people, in one way or another, who have an incredibly shallow perspective on the world. Sure, they may not wear KKK hoods but they don't have to. So cut it out with the fake olive branch.

Well, I agree with those points. You get into looking into Margret Sanger she was a evil chick that did not want Negros to grow to an uncontrollable population. She was quoted: "It is a vicious cycle; ignorance breeds poverty and poverty breeds ignorance. There is only one cure for both, and that is to stop breeding these things." Meaning that blacks were both inherently poor and ignorant. Then there is Hillary that called black youth super predators also revered Sanger and also called her family friend, a KKK grand dragon and recruiter her mentor. Not only did she campaign for an individual that was against the civil rights movement, her KKK buddy she loved so much, (Byrd) set the record for longest filibuster on the floor of the U.S. Senate with a 14-hour filibuster of the 1964 Civil Rights Act. It's all right there in open veiw but people ignore it.

One thing many of the WalkAway friends I have said is that we should not pay attention to racism now, what is more important are episodes of racism in the past, even if the person apologized and atoned for past behavior, the emphasize we need to stay focused on these past events as anything we see today is not relevant or influential in our lives, or it is staged.

That just sounds like specious reasoning.

I notice more of this type of ridiculous logic and political puritanism among young people. What's strange is that some sound college educated and should know better, but they seem to opt for lazy thinking.

I agree to a certain extent, but the left should not be attacking so many young people because it is causing an even larger number to head toward Trump. I've noticed that the younger black voters are more pro-Trump, but a few older people have been joining the WalkAway movement.

That's a gross oversimplification of Sanger's thought and the time she lived in. I might as well throw away half the Bible with that sort of logic.

Putin's bot army is at work yet again. This is not a coincidence that this should happen now. All it takes is a little kindling and coaxing to create a movement that is largely built on astroturf.
That's exactly what has so many people walking away man, they're tired of the Russia obsession because they totally did nothing to harm the US election in 2016.

Do you ever wonder why the entire world just loves to hate the USA?

I wonder why some Americans think the whole world hates them.

I just enjoyed a pleasant breakfast with some Americans here in Istanbul. I never saw anyone hating them.

What are you suggesting then?

Why do we need funding?

Did you think those thinly veiled "make a girl get counseling before she gets an abortion" programs pay for themselves?

No sir. I'm saying that the statement he made "there are some very fine people on both sides" was inclusive of both the alt-left and alt-right. Or I may ask you, what do you think he meant by "both sides?"

There were the KKK and Neo Nazis marching on one side, and those opposed to the KKK and Neo Nazis marching on the other side.

You may see an equivalence between these two groups. I do not.

false flag. There's no evidence for what you're suggesting without having to twist words to fit a narrative that simply isn't true. This is one reason people are leaving the Democratic party of many.
False flag? Twisting words? I said Trump was rewarding the loyalty of part of his base, specifically the KKK and Neo Nazis. You said every recent president has rewarded loyalty. I then asked you to provide evidence regarding recent presidents supporting the KKK and Neo Nazis.

The only way it is logical that I "twisted words" is if you literally equate the KKK and Neo Nazis with any other political group, and for example see them as no different than grandmothers who stomp door to door handing out pamphlets supporting their favourite candidate. I am sure this is not what you really believe, so how about apologizing for accusing me of "twisting words," and perhaps try to take a more realistic view of what Trump actually says?
