LOL! I guess most people have not been around blind people, esp. those blinded at birth or early in life. They can do amazing things--and it's sometimes difficult to know when you first meet them that they are, indeed, blind. Their hearing is quite acute and even their skin can sense movement. Their hands can feel someone passing by or something falling. Their sense of smell is also very keen. If someone walks by they do not know has entered, they will pick up their scent. If nothing is moved without their knowledge, they can walk around their own home like a sighted person--or anywhere else they visit frequently. It can be spooky. Stevie Wonder is blind.

It's also worth pointing out that pretending to be blind is actually a very, VERY difficult thing to do in any convincing fashion, and even trained actors have trouble pulling it off. Human beings rely on their sense of sight before anything, to the point where we don't even really think about how we're using it most of the time - we're just used to automatically looking at things and manipulating our eyes.

Turning that off, forcing ourselves to not do what comes instinctively, is quite difficult. Keeping that up for years, decades, since your were just a little kid...

You can see in the video that Paul running past, bumps Stevie, bumps the mike stand, and the stand falls toward Stevie, who catches it. Likely he could hear the mike falling, being on stage much of his life, it's a sound he is very familiar with. Even catching a falling mike stand is probably a well practiced skill he has. He could probably juggle a live mike stand based on the sounds it makes.

Yes, I know. Blindness is one of the medical problems faced by prematurely born infants. We have two preemie grandsons, one born at 27 wks., so we were on top of watching them closely for any problems with their sight, fortunately both of them are fine.

Yeah, I'm amazed that blind people find the buttons of elevators to read the Braille, but apparently they do.

Well, that was his mike, so he certainly knew where it was and how it was boomed (had been told where it was or had set it up for himself), he certainly sensed Paul running past him (I could do that much with my eyes closed), and he most likely heard the sound of Paul striking it.

Other than that, the rest of the video was comedic emphasis.

None of that is enough to make a judgment on which to base a character assertion.
