joshua is a priest representing the church
zerubbabel is minister of the state

the two witnesses are the church and state
we have two christian empires

the holy roman empire
and

the place is jerusalem
and
control of it ended in 1244

it looks like the holy roman empire to me

What does, "they reigned with Christ" mean if Christ isn't reigning? Besides, like I pointed out, there are lots of prophecies about the time Jesus reigns in the earth. It hasn't been so peaceful (as it will be) since before the fall of man.

It's straightforward that it was written by John the apostle. There's no need to complicate things, so why do it? I had never heard the idea that people contested the author. Plus, God is in the interest in preserving His Scripture.

I am not ignoring the past but I don't consider it to be fulfilled prophecy from Revelation 6-22. You refuse to see it as future. Look, we are getting nowhere. The future isn't anything I want it to be. I definitely didn't write Revelation. There's no point in going in circles.

Concerning a literal Tribulation versus a historical (symbolic) one, if I'm right, I'm prepared to overcome in the Tribulation. If I'm wrong, it doesn't affect me negatively. What if you're wrong? Just think about it.

how have you prepared?

If the literal Tribulation comes in my lifetime (which I don't think is unreasonable), I'm mentally prepared to walk away from my money and risk hunger if I'm here when the mark of the beast arrives. I know it's going to be a very difficult time, with many people falling away from faith and a lot of deception. I imagine the agony of seeing family members and friends who I thought were heaven-bound renounce their faith or take the mark of the beast and condemn themselves. I am also praying to keep close watch over my life and doctrine. I don't want my love to grow cold on account of my focus being on the wrong thing (Matthew 24:12), and I don't want to be a hypocrite or lazy (refusing to work for Jesus by witnessing to people because I'm too afraid to suffer). I want to follow Jesus to the end, even if it means being beheaded because I share the gospel with someone who turns me in, or because I am backed into a corner and refuse to take the mark of the beast.

I know people, too, who have walked away from or denounced God. Sometimes they end the relationship. (My friend did. She ignored my calls for over a year. I didn't even know what happened for awhile.) I'm not happy about apostasy in the least. But I don't think watching it should cause my own faith to fail.
