  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

i am a clean freak as i always like the house clean and things in its place. to me a clean house is a happy house
I'm like that too and our house hasn't been really "together" since we moved in. It's been several years!! Problem is I can't get my wife to coordinate with me to go thru a lot of her stuff and organize it. Frustrating.

Oh, and I'm sick. Just a stomach bug with headache. Could be worse.

Really, folks, did Christ REALLY say that we were supposed to stay in an abusive situation and tough it out in our marriages until we eventually got killed? REALLY????? JUST so we could say "At least I didn't commit adultery by divorcing"! REALLY???

My vent for the day? Well, my husband is deployed and the end is near.....ish and his unit is like refusing to give us any hints as to when they will be getting back. On top of that he got orders from the Army to move to Fort Riley Kansas just 48 hours before he was supposed to get locked in for fort lee virginia (which is where my mother is, and our house, and all our stuff) so somehow next month I have to pack up our daughter and whatever I can fit into my car and drive back to CO since the Army will only pay for our move to Kansas if we both move from Colorado. I am happy he will be back and safe and we will be together and I know God has a plan for us. But REALLY!? *vent over* lol

((((((((((((hugs))))))))))) There really isn't any logic to the Army is there? My son is waiting to find out about PCS from Ft. Carson along with a "maybe" deployment. Right now he's on medical hold so we'll see what happens.

I'll be praying for you guys. Army life is not easy. I survived the Navy, but I think Army life would have sent me right over the edge!

Thanks! It was just completely out of the blue. We have been at Fort Carson for 5 years now, but he was re-enlisting for Virginia, so I moved home when he deployed and we have a house here and everything and my daughter loves it and being a few miles away from grandma. The Army was all "yes! we are going to lock you in for orders to Virginia!"

Literally a few hours later he called me back saying we were moving to Kansas. Hahahaa uhhhhhhhhhhhh

Maybe he can go to his command and get the orders changed. It could be worse though...Ft. Huachuca is sort of the end of the world :D

I have a similar vent.

It boils down to what you believe. And I just don't believe Christ wants that for us.

This is a good idea. I've wanted to vent about this for days but I dare not on facebook since some of the parties involved are friends.

My son has been in the same Cub Scout pack since he was a Tiger (first year for the uninitiated). He's now a Webelo 2 which will be his last year as a Cub Scout. All this time, the den and pack meetings have been on Fridays which suits us just fine since we have swimming on Monday and Wednesday, AWANA on Tuesday and Girl Scouts on Thursday. This has been our schedule for several years now.

Last year we got a new den leader and quite frankly he stunk because the kids got very little done in the den meetings. Of the 9 badges my son currently has, we did 5 of them on our own at home. That's all well and good but at least half the time we got to the den meetings and he'd be like, "You guys can do what you want because I don't have any plans for the meeting."

So this year, he let us know before the first meeting that he'd be gone all of September so I told everyone that I'd put together the meetings for September. So I did all this research and put together a booklet for the boys to get their forester badge. And the wife of this guy is just all snarky about it saying that we should concentrate on the the "important" badges.

First, the four badges that the den leader did help the boys get last year are the four that are required for their Webelo patch and the arrow of light. Second, other than those four, what makes one badge more important than the others?

In addition to that, she tells me that they are thinking of changing the den meetings to another day of the week and that they want to set up several tours of various places around town and then not do the den meeting at all. She got really bent when I told her that that simply would not work for our family and then she tells me that I need to prioritize. I told her there was no prioritizing needed because the kids have to do swimming for their PE for school (we homeschool) so missing a day is not an option. AWANA is church related, so they won't be missing that and I can't put Cub Scouts over Girl Scouts because I"m the co-leader for my daughter's troop and even if I wasn't it wouldn't be fair to tell my daughter that what she does is unimportant because my boy's den leader doesn't want to do his job. Thankfully, I wan't the only parent who had a problem with this idea so... But I'm still really irritated.

Sorry this was so long.

Take it up with the Scouting higher-ups?

Unfortunately, many of the scout troops are independent. As long as they aren't breaking the scouting rules, the higher ups don't exercise much control over scheduling. I hope you can find another troop or maybe you could splinter into your own with some other parents and get chartered.

We had a really awful troop leader for the last couple years. She was disorganized and preoccupied with other things in her life. Our troop finances were completely messed up. We joined with (what seems like) a much more organized and orderly troop in our area and we are hoping that things are back on track now.

Yeah, the den is huge this year and it seems that half of the boys and parents want to do what the den leader wants to do and the other half want to keep things the same so I'm thinking that the best thing to do might be to just splinter off and have two Webelos 2 dens. I'm going to talk to the Cub Master.

You could not live w/my spouse then "scatter" is his middle name. His mother is a hoarder and I have horrors of our place turning into that....I finally got him to take his shoes off for the most part Bf coming in the house-after 3 different sets of flooring have gone down..(We live on a hobby farm and have a dirt road driveway) Mud is a constant battle in the winter, him the dogs even the cat..They all come in & out with him like there is a revolving door...hubby is forever fixiing something and since he can never find things (b/c he does not put them away) he's forever in/out asking me for things like extension cords...I believe he breaks as much as he repairs, but it keeps him busy :). Wish I could hire it done, but we live behind 3 sets of locked gates and the vendors hate it when the hunters shut them in....

Ok, seriously freaking out. Somebody tried & almost succeeded to break into the private restroom at my office while I was using it today. I have been literally shaking. Who does that??

Creepy people. That would have freaked me out too! Ugh. So glad they didn't make it in though!!
