No, Nestorians separate the humanity of Christ from His divinity. I don't believe that.

Saying that only the human side of Jesus is born of the Virgin Mary is separating Christ's humanity from His divinity. I don't care what argument you use to back it up. Just because you cannot conceive of how Mary could have literally given birth to God doesn't mean it is not so.

So, you think that God just deposited the body of Jesus into the womb of Mary?

I said nothing of the sort, and absolutely not. However, you are attempting to explain the workings of the Spirit, and you'd better have Scripture backing you up if you're going to try to do that.

You need to read my posts instead of proff texting them. I specifically mentioned that Mary gave birth to BOTH the human and the divine nature of Christ. Please read before you answer.
So did Mary literaly gave birth to the eternal God? Can you explain that?

And I say you are saying that God has a mother, you better back that up with scripture. I have heard Catholics say that all that Jesus is, came from Mary, that God only caused her egg to begin to divide and become Jesus Christ. Do you believe that?

I do. But the divine did not come from Mary, it came from God.

Absolutely, that is why Mary can not be the literal mother of God but symbolically she did give birth to the human nature and divinity of Christ. :)

That you did, but earlier you used the qualifier "symbolically" to describe how Mary could give birth to the divine nature of Christ. I'm arguing that you are putting up an unacceptable barrier between the divine and human sides of Christ. There is no prooftexting going on here anywhere; you are not understanding what I'm arguing.

Can I explain the miracle of the Incarnation? I absolutely cannot. And neither can anyone else, with the exception of God Himself.

I did. You didn't accept it. Maybe there is no point in debating any further.

Two problems here...

1) I am not Roman Catholic.
2) No. They're doing the same thing you're doing: trying to explain the inexplicable. (edit: I'm not meaning to refer to ALL Catholics here!)

Really??? where???? Sounds like gossip to me buddy. Nowhere in any Catholic teachings will you find what you just stated..........what you're now doing is slander, I suggest you stop...relying on what someone"might have" said versus what Catholics believe and teach are two different things.........shame on you.

What he posted was bunk.....the Catholic faith does not teach what he stated.........

 Can't let people spread lies as "Gospel truth" about my faith......
One only has to use the bible and the official CCC to see what exactly we teach....I'm tired of people trying to warp and bend the truth to suit their own ends in attacking the Church.......makes me sick:sick:

I do understand what you are argueing since I have had this argument with other EO's in the past. The qualifier is "symbolically" because Mary could not have given birth to the eternal God literally. That would be impossible. Mary did not give Jesus his divinity. Jesus divinity was already there at the time that Jesus was concieved in the womb by the HS.

While it is true that we do not know how the HS incarnated Jesus, we do lnow that it was the HS. Again, Jesus divinity there at the time of incarnation because Jesus is and always has been God.

The last Beatitude...

Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute
you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for
my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your
reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which
were before you.

99% of the posts started here violate the rules IMO....whats one to do, hit the report button all day long? I try to give people the benefit of the doubt.......then they go and make it easy on me to spot what they are up to.......ahhhhhhhhhhh makes you wonder what their definition of Christian love is......but hey..........we can ask the Saints to pray for them.....God forgives.........

Wow... God forming the universe with sheer will sounds pretty impossible too if you try to explain it in human terms!

And Mary had no part in this? If she did, how is she not the mother of God?

Again, Jesus divinity there at the time of incarnation because Jesus is and always has been God.

I don't see anyone trying to argue otherwise.
